The issue reproducible with empty project. When you run it and tap "Open immersive space" it takes a couple of minutes to respond. The issue only reproducible on real device with debugger attached. Reproducible other developers too (not specific to my environment). Issue doesn't exists in Xcode 16.
Afer initial long delay subsequent opens works fine.

This post documents an issue I reported in feedback FB19610114 and see if anyone knows of a workaround. Here is a copy of the feedback.
Short version
Manipulation (SwiftUI OR RealityKit) fails to translate entities after changing rooms. By changing rooms, I mean a human wearing an Apple Vision Pro leaving one room and entering another room. Once this issue occurs, it impacts all apps that use these features. A device restart is the only solution I have to fix it.
Feedback FB19610114
This is an odd one. I'm using the new Manipulation Component in visionOS 26. Most of the time this works well. Sometime it stops working and when it does the only way to get it working again is to reboot the headset.
When this happens, I can continue to rotate and scale items, but translation no longer works. It is as if the item is stuck to a fixed point in the parent scene (window, volume, etc). When this bug occurs, it affects every app across the entire operating system that is using manipulation, including the RealityKit component AND the SwiftUI version. This is not limited to one app and is not limited to apps that I am working on. Once this error occurs, it affects literally any application across the operating system that is using this API, including apps from Apple.
I won't speculate on the cause of this, but I do know of one way where I can always get it to happen.
Here is how to reproduce it:
Make an Xcode project with a single entity that uses the Manipulation Component. There is no need to customize the configuration of this component. The default implementation will work.
Build and run this app on device. You can keep running from device or quit and launch the app like normal on device.
Open the app and manipulate the entity - it should work as expected.
Physically walk into another room. It is vital that you leave the current room that you are in and enter a different room entirely.
Use the digital crown to recenter your view and bring your window or volume to you.
Test the manipulation on the entity again - it should still be working as expected at this point.
Physically, move yourself and your headset into the original room where you started.
Use the digital crown to recenter your view and bring your window or volume to you.
Test the manipulation on the entity again - you should now see the issue.
When I follow the steps above, then 100% of the time manipulation translation stops working at this point. It will impact any application using this API. The only way to fix it is to restart my headset.
A few points to keep in mind
It does not matter if an app is actively being run from Xcode.
When this occurs, it impacts every single app, not just one.
When this occurs, rotation and scaling continue to work, but the entity/view cannot be translated.
This impacts BOTH the SwiftUI version and the RealityKit version.
When this occurs, the only way to "fix" it is to reboot the device.
Platform: visionOS 2.6
Framework: RealityKit, SwiftUIComponent: ImagePresentationComponent
I’m working with the new ImagePresentationComponent from visionOS 26 and hitting a rendering limitation when switching to .spatialStereoImmersive viewing mode within a WindowGroup context.
This is what I’m seeing:
Pure immersive space: ImagePresentationComponent with .spatialStereoImmersive mode works perfectly in a standalone ImmersiveSpace
Mode switching API: All mode transitions work correctly (logs confirm the component updates)
Spatial content: .spatialStereo mode renders correctly in both window and immersive contexts.
This is where it’s breaking for me:
Window context: When the same RealityView + ImagePresentationComponent is placed inside a WindowGroup (even when that window is floating in a mixed immersive space), switching to .spatialStereoImmersive mode shows no visual change
The API calls succeed, state updates correctly, but the immersive content doesn’t render.
Apple’s Spatial Gallery demonstrates exactly what I’m trying to achieve:
Spatial photos displayed in a window with what feels like horizontal scroll view using system window control bar, etc.
Tapping a spatial photo smoothly transitions it to immersive mode in-place.
The immersive content appears to “grow” from the original window position by just changing IPC viewing modes.
This proves the functionality should be possible, but I can’t determine the correct configuration.
So, my question to is:
Is there a specific RealityView or WindowGroup configuration required to enable immersive content rendering from window contexts that you know of?
Are there bounds/clipping settings that need to be configured to allow immersive content to “break out” of window constraints?
Does .spatialStereoImmersive require a specific rendering context that’s not available in windowed RealityView instances?
How do you think Apple’s SG app achieves this functionality?
For a little more context:
All viewing modes are available: [.mono, .spatialStereo, .spatialStereoImmersive]
The spatial photos are valid and work correctly in pure immersive space
Mixed immersive space is active when testing window context
No errors or warnings in console beyond the successful mode switching logs I’m getting
Any insights into the proper configuration for window-hosted immersive content
I am getting the error "Initializing hosting entity without a context" in the console when I build and run my game in XCode 16.0 beta, targeting Vision Pro OS 2.0 (22N5252n).
Not sure where the error is originating.
For the M2 Apple Vision Pro, there's "a general guideline, we recommend no more than 500 thousand triangles for an immersive scene, with 250 thousand for applications in the shared space." --https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2024/10186/?time=147
Is there a revised recommendation for the M5 Apple Vision Pro?
Hi, I am trying to load files from the Apple Vision Pro's storage into a Unity App (using Apple visionOS XR Plugin and not PolySpatial package). So far, I've tried using UnitySimpleFileBrowser and UnityStandaloneFileBrowser (both aren't made for the Vision Pro and don't work there), and then implemented my own naive file browser that at least allows me to view directories (that I can see from the App Sandbox). This is of course very limited:
Gray folders can't be accessed, the only 3 available ones don't contain anything where a user would put files through the "Files" app.
I know that an app can request access to these "Files & Folders":
So my question is: Is there a way to request this access for a Unity-built app at the moment? If yes, what do I need to do? I've looked into the generated Xcode project's "Capabilities", but did not find anything related to file access. Any help is appreciated!
Suppose there was an immersiveSpace, and an Entity() being added to the space as child entity of the content. This entity is responsible for playing background music by calling prepareAudio, gaining a controller and play the music. (check the basic code below)
When it was playing music, a .plain window and an immersiveSpace are both presented. I believe this immersiveSpace is holding the handle of the controller so as long as immersiveSpace is open, the music won't stop.
However if I close the .plain window (by closing system-level close button), the music just stopped. But the immersiveSpace is still open. If right now I check the value of controller.isPlaying, it was still true. But you just cannot hear the music anymore.
To reproduce, simply open an visionOS template App project, selecting volume and full immersive, and replace some code inImmersiveView.swift with the code below. Also simply drag any .mp3 file and replace the AudioFileResource's name. And you could reproduce this bug.
RealityView { content in
// Add the initial RealityKit content
if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "Immersive", in: realityKitContentBundle) {
content.add(immersiveContentEntity)
// Put skybox here. See example in World project available at
// https://developer.apple.com/
if let audioResource = try? await AudioFileResource(named: "anyMP3file.mp3") {
let ent = Entity()
immersiveContentEntity.addChild(ent)
let controller = ent.prepareAudio(audioResource)
controller.play()
}
}
}
I wonder why this happen? I mean how should I keep the music playing when I close the .plain window?
Thanks!
hi guys,
I'm working in VFX industry and I've got the question that, is it possible to create immersive video directly from virtual scene created in DCC software like maya, rendered into footage, then coded into immersive video, and finally play in in vision pro?
thanks.

After adding TextComponents to my Entities on visionOS, I have observed that visualBounds will ignore the TextComponents.
Documentation states that it should render a rounded rectangle mesh. These mashes are visible on the device, but not visible in the debugger ("Capture Entity Hierarchy") and ignored by visualBounds.
Am I missing something?
static func makeDirection(_ direction: Direction) -> Entity {
let text = Entity()
text.name = direction.rawValue
text.setScale(SIMD3(repeating: 5), relativeTo: nil)
text.transform.rotation = direction.rotation
text.components.set(direction.textComponent)
return text
}
My workaround is to add a disabled ModelEntity and take its bounds 😬
Sorry for the cross-post but it's now two days in and this isn't fixed.
If you try to use Xcode 16.3b3 with visionOS, it won't download the visionOS SDK, gives a 'network error' so you can't use the latest beta for Apple Vision Pro.

I’m developing an app using RealityKit and RealityView. On newer iPhones, such as the iPhone 15 Pro, Object Occlusion appears to be enabled by default, which causes 3D entities to be hidden behind real-world objects in the scene. However, I need to disable this behavior to ensure proper rendering of my 3D content.
This issue does not occur on older devices like the iPhone 13, where the app works as intended. I haven’t been able to find a solution to explicitly disable object occlusion on the newer devices for RealityView.
Any guidance or suggestions to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Is there any interest in this forum for those developing for the spatial web and safari. I can't seem to find any posts that are relevant here.
This is related to the WWDC presentation, What's new in Metal rendering for immersive apps..
Specifically, the macOS spatial streaming to visionOS feature: For reference: the page in the docs.
The presentation demonstrates it using a full immersive space and Metal rendering using compositor services.
I'd like clarity on a few things:
Is the remote device wireless, or must the visionOS device be connected via a wired connected?
Is there a limit to the number of remote devices, and if not, could macOS render different things per remote device simultaneously?
Can I also use mixed mode with passthrough enabled, instead of just a fully-immersive mode?
Can I use RealityKit instead of Metal? If so, may I have an example, or would someone point to an example?
Hi,
we've been through the Explore Object Tracking for visionOS and worked through the sample code ExploringObjectTrackingWithARKit.
What we'd really like to see is Object Tracking for iOS using devices with either LiDAR or the TrueDepth/RGB cameras.
Hi everyone,
I’m building a visualization app for VisionPro that uses SharePlay and GroupActivities to explore datasets collaboratively.
I’ve successfully implemented the new SharedWorldAnchor feature, and everything works well with nearby, local participants.
However, I’m stuck on one point:
How can I share a world anchor with remote participants who join via FaceTime as spatial personas?
Apple’s demo app (where multiple users move a plane model around) seems to suggest that this is possible.
For context, I’m building an immersive app with Metal rendering.
Any guidance or examples would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jens
Apple, please provide access to face tracking blend shapes on vision os, just like you do on iOS.
You have the best eye and face tracking implementation on the market, please let us use it. There is a sizable audience who will buy the headset just for it.
I personally know multiple people who are not buying the headset simply because you locked those features out.
No raw camera access is needed, just abstracted blendshapes values. You will make the headset so much more useful if you do this simple thing.
Is there any way to detect if an entity is being looked at in a RealityView. I know it is possible to add a "HoverEffectComponent()" which will highlight the entity a little when you gaze on it, but there doesn't seem to be any way to call a function from this. There is also no GazeGesture or anything similar.
I would like to translate info in a three.js based web app as a 3D model in a volumetric window. Is it possible to do this in a similar manner as loading a web page in a WKWebView?
We have been using RoomPlan in our app for 2+ years. Through a combination of in-app and manual coaching on scanning best practices, most users are able to achieve high-quality scans on a consistent basis.
In recent weeks, however, we have observed an increase in reports of degraded scanning performance, even from veteran users who had not previously encountered issues. The RoomCaptureView overlay is jittery and crooked, and the resulting scan file has significant issues, even for simple, well-lit rectangular rooms.
It is difficult to troubleshoot these issues given the number of variables at play, and the overall volume of reports is still relatively low, but we'd appreciate any guidance on known issues or workarounds that could help unblock our users who are being affected by this. I noticed that this post includes an acknowledgement of FB14454922 and FB15035788. Our issues seem slightly different as the scans are simply inaccurate and jittery without failing outright. I haven't found any other threads on similar issues.
How do you force quit apps on the Vision Pro simulator?
I've read online you can double press the digital crown on a real Vision Pro device but there is no such button on the simulator. So far I've tried
Pressing the home button twice (⇧⌘H)
Pressing the Siri button twice (⌥⇧⌘H)
None of them works
I'm on Xcode 15.0 beta 5 (15A5209g) & visionOS 1.0 beta 2 (21N5207e)
