ASWebAuthenticationSession crash after window closes on macOS
I'm trying to use ASWebAuthenticationSession on macOS but there is a weird crash and I have no idea what to do. It looks like there is a main thread check in a framework code that I have no control over. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. The stack of crashed thread has no symbols, even for supposedly my code in OAuthClient.authenticate. macOS 15.4.1 (24E263) Xcode Version 16.3 (16E140) Thread 11: EXC_BREAKPOINT (code=1, subcode=0x10039bb04) Thread 12 Queue : com.apple.NSXPCConnection.m-user.com.apple.SafariLaunchAgent (serial) #0 0x0000000100b17b04 in _dispatch_assert_queue_fail () #1 0x0000000100b52834 in dispatch_assert_queue$V2.cold.1 () #2 0x0000000100b17a88 in dispatch_assert_queue () #3 0x000000027db5f3e8 in swift_task_isCurrentExecutorWithFlagsImpl () #4 0x00000001022c7754 in closure #1 in closure #1 in OAuthClient.authenticate() () #5 0x00000001022d0c98 in thunk for @escaping @callee_guaranteed (@in_guaranteed URL?, @guaranteed Error?) -> () () #6 0x00000001c7215a34 in __102-[ASWebAuthenticationSession initWithURL:callback:usingEphemeralSession:jitEnabled:completionHandler:]_block_invoke () #7 0x00000001c72163d0 in -[ASWebAuthenticationSession _endSessionWithCallbackURL:error:] () #8 0x00000001c7215fc0 in __43-[ASWebAuthenticationSession _startDryRun:]_block_invoke_2 () #9 0x0000000194e315f4 in __invoking___ () #10 0x0000000194e31484 in -[NSInvocation invoke] () #11 0x00000001960fd644 in __NSXPCCONNECTION_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_REPLY_BLOCK__ () #12 0x00000001960fbe40 in -[NSXPCConnection _decodeAndInvokeReplyBlockWithEvent:sequence:replyInfo:] () #13 0x00000001960fb798 in __88-[NSXPCConnection _sendInvocation:orArguments:count:methodSignature:selector:withProxy:]_block_invoke_3 () #14 0x0000000194a6ef18 in _xpc_connection_reply_callout () #15 0x0000000194a6ee08 in _xpc_connection_call_reply_async () #16 0x0000000100b3130c in _dispatch_client_callout3_a () #17 0x0000000100b362f8 in _dispatch_mach_msg_async_reply_invoke () #18 0x0000000100b1d3a8 in _dispatch_lane_serial_drain () #19 0x0000000100b1e46c in _dispatch_lane_invoke () #20 0x0000000100b2bfbc in _dispatch_root_queue_drain_deferred_wlh () #21 0x0000000100b2b414 in _dispatch_workloop_worker_thread () #22 0x0000000100c0379c in _pthread_wqthread () My code: @MainActor func authenticate() async throws { let authURL = api.authorizationURL( scopes: scopes, state: state, redirectURI: redirectURI ) let authorizationCodeURL: URL = try await withUnsafeThrowingContinuation { c in let session = ASWebAuthenticationSession(url: authURL, callback: .customScheme(redirectScheme)) { url, error in guard let url = url else { c.resume(throwing: error ?? Keychain Item Lost During Resetting Face ID
I'm using the following code to store a Keychain item: SecAccessControlCreateWithFlags( kCFAllocatorDefault, kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly, .biometryAny, &error ) One of my app users reported an issue: 1. The user navigated to his iPhone’s Face ID settings and click `Reset Face ID`. 2. Then, before he set new Face ID, he accidentally tapped the "Back" button and returned to the iPhone Settings page. 3. He later reopened the Face ID setup page and completed the process. 4. Upon returning to my app, the Keychain item secured by Face ID was no longer found. I understand that .biometryAny may cause Keychain items to become invalidated when biometric data is reset. However, the user’s scenario — where the setup was temporarily interrupted — seems to have caused the item to disappear. 1. Is there a way to detect and handle such interruptions to prevent the Keychain item from being lost? 2. How can I design a better experience to guide the user in recreating the Keychain item when this occurs?

Sign In With Apple not Removable by Users
I've just implemented Sign-In-With-Apple and everything is working perfectly, but my app seems to be in some strange state where users are unable to remove it from the Sign-In-With-Apple section of their settings. Things I've tried: -- Deleting from Mac. (It just stays in the list) -- Deleting from the iPhone (It stays in the list) -- Deleting from account.apple.com (same issue) -- I've noticed in the browser inspector tools I receive a 200 on the DELETE request, but the app remains. -- Multiple users Also have tried: -- Revoking the token through the REST API -- I get an email saying the token has been revoked, but it's still working -- Same code, different app id (works fine!) It seems like maybe my app is in some sort of weird state? Has anyone come across this before?

Zero Trust - macOS Tahoe 26.0 (
Hi all, I've on high alert after hearing about the security concerns with npm. Full disclosure, I'm new to computer and network architecture, however, as someone who is on high alert for aplications exfiltrating data or poisioning my on-device machine learning models — I've seen some things I can't fully explain and I'm hoping the community can help. I ran the code odutil show all and I was wondering why certain node names are hidden in my system and when I use the directory utility, I can't use my computer login and password to authenticate to see the users? Am I being locked out of seeing my own system? I'm trying to dig to see if a root kit was installed on my device. Does anyone know what the users and groups in the directory utility are? Who is "nobody" and who is "Unknown user"? I'll probably have a lot more questions about this suspicious files I've seen on my device. Does anyone else's device download machine learning model payloads from the internet without notifying the user (even through a firewall, no startup applications?). I've also tried deleting applications I no longer need anymore and my "system" makes them re-appear.... what?

Apple Sign-In: "invalid-credential" error despite correct configuration - Firebase Auth iOS
Problem Summary I'm experiencing a persistent invalid-credential error with Apple Sign-In on iOS despite having verified every aspect of the configuration over the past 6 months. The error occurs at the Firebase Authentication level after successfully receiving credentials from Apple. Error Message: Firebase auth error: invalid-credential - Invalid OAuth response from apple.com. Environment Platform: iOS (Flutter app) Firebase Auth: v5.7.0 Sign in with Apple: v6.1.2 Xcode: Latest version with capability enabled iOS Target: 13.0+ Bundle ID: com.harmonics.orakl What Actually Happens ✅ Apple Sign-In popup appears ✅ User can authenticate with Apple ID ✅ Apple returns credentials with identityToken ❌ Firebase rejects with invalid-credential error The error occurs at Firebase level, not Apple level. What I've Tried Created a brand new Apple Key (previous key was 6 months old) Tested with both App ID and Service ID in Firebase Completely reinstalled CocoaPods dependencies Verified nonce handling is correct (hashed to Apple, raw to Firebase) Activated Firebase Hosting and attempted to deploy .well-known file Checked Cloud Logging (no detailed error messages found) Disabled and re-enabled Apple Sign-In provider in Firebase Verified Return URL matches exactly Waited and retried multiple times over 6 months Questions Is the .well-known/apple-developer-domain-association.txt file required? If yes, how should it be generated? Firebase Hosting doesn't auto-generate it. Could there be a server-side caching/blacklist issue with my domain or Service ID after multiple failed attempts? Should the Apple Key be linked to the Service ID instead of the App ID? The key shows as linked to Z3NNDZVWMZ.com.harmonics.orakl (the App ID). Is there any way to get more detailed error logs from Firebase about why it's rejecting the Apple OAuth response? Could using a custom domain instead of .firebaseapp.com resolve the issue? Additional Context Google Sign-In works perfectly on the same app The configuration has been reviewed by multiple developers Error persists across different devices and iOS versions No errors in Xcode console except the Firebase rejection Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've exhausted all standard troubleshooting steps and documentation. Project Details: Bundle ID: com.harmonics.orakl Firebase Project: harmonics-app Team ID: Z3N....... code : // 1. Generate raw nonce final String rawNonce = _generateRandomNonce(); // 2. Hash with SHA-256 final String hashedNonce = _sha256Hash(rawNonce); // 3. Send HASHED nonce to Apple ✅ final appleCredential = await SignInWithApple.getAppleIDCredential( scopes: [AppleIDAuthorizationScopes.email, AppleIDAuthorizationScopes.fullName], nonce: hashedNonce, // Correct: hashed nonce to Apple ); // 4. Create Firebase credential with RAW nonce ✅ final oauthCredential = OAuthProvider("apple.com").credential( idToken: appleCredential.identityToken!, rawNonce: rawNonce, // Correct: raw nonce to Firebase ); // 5. Sign in with Firebase - ERROR OCCURS HERE ❌ await FirebaseAuth.instance.signInWithCredential(oauthCredential);

Conditional Display of Passkey Provider in macOS \ iOS
Hello, I've developed a macOS app with an AutoFill Credential Provider extension that functions as a passkey provider. In the registration flow, I want my app to appear as a passkey provider only when specific conditions are met. Is there a way to inspect the request from the web before the passkey provider selection list is displayed to the user, determine whether my app can handle it, and then use that result to instruct the OS on whether to include my app in the passkey provider selection list? Alternatively, is there a way to predefine conditions that must be met before my app is offered as a passkey provider in the selection list? Thanks!

Change in the behaviour of SFAuthorizationPluginView in macOS 15
Hi, I've recently tested my custom AuthorizationPlugin on macOS 15 (Sequoia) and I'm seeing a significant change in rendering (or precisely not rendering) the control returned by my SFAuthorizationPluginView's subclass' viewForType method comparing to macOS 14. (I developed and tested my solution on macOS 14 earlier this year). I use SFAuthorizationPluginView to present a NSView (Custom view) which contains a NSSecureTextField and a NSImageView. I show my custom plugin after the user successfully entered username and password (or only the password if the List of Users is configured in System Settings) into the builtin fields provided by loginwindow:login, so injecting my plugin:mechanism pair into the system.login.console after loginwindow:success. (I need to run my mechanism after builtin:authenticate,privileged since my plugin relies on the authentication result coming from my custom PAM module). This setup now however doesn't seem to be working: after entering the (username and) password, the circular spinner appears and my NSView never gets rendered. I've found a workaround to place my plugin:mechanism pair after loginwindow:done, so in the end of the whole authorization chain. I tried to run the good old NameAndPassword bundle, injecting it into the place of the loginwindow:login. Controls are being rendered correctly, but if I place it even right after loginwindow:login it doesn't get rendered as my custom plugin. Is anybody aware if there's anything has intentionally been changed in macOS 15? Or may it be a bug? I guess the original intention of the SFAuthorizationPluginView class was to overwrite/redefine the UI instead of the builtin username + password field, so if I look at it that way it's expected that the view it contains only gets rendered if we use it instead of loginwindow:login. On the other hand this hasn't been the case until now. Thanks for any help!

Question about revoke the token in 'Sign in with Apple'
News link: https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=12m75xbj If your app offers Sign in with Apple, you’ll need to use the Sign in with Apple REST API to revoke user tokens when deleting an account. I'm not good English. I'm confused about the above sentence Do I have to use REST API unconditionally or can I just delete to the account data?

invalid_client
Would really appreciate support with this invalid_client issue: I have a web app and have aligned the JWT Header and Payload JWT Header { "alg": "ES256", "kid": "ABC123DEFG" } JWT Payload { "iss": "DEF123GHIJ", "iat": 1234567890, "exp": 1234567890, "aud": "https://appleid.apple.com", "sub": "com.yourapp.service" The domains and callback are aligned and correct I've even created a new p8 and updated the Key_ID Sending Credentials to Apple (Token Request) Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded However, still no luck. Can anyone assist with identifying the possible error? Many thanks

SFAuthorizationPluginView and invalid password
I am using SFAuthorizationPluginView in my Security agent plugin. My code expects that its willActivate method be called. With normal screensaver unlock, this works fine. However if I enter an invalid password, then enter the correct password, I never get the willActivate call. I have reproduced this with Quinn's LoginUIAuthPlugin from the QAuthPlugins example code. My mechanisms look like this with LoginUIAuthPlugin: mechanisms HyprAuthPlugin:invoke builtin:authenticate,privileged PKINITMechanism:auth,privileged LoginUIAuthPlugin:login CryptoTokenKit:login I would like to be able to get my plugin working properly when the user had previously entered an invalid password.

Sending to Private Relay Email using amazon ses not working
Hello Developers, I have ran into a problem while sending mail to apple private relay email. We have built a mobile application where user can sign up through apple and they can sign up using hide-my-email feature. Which provides private relay address for us. Now we want to communicate with them using private relay mail address. The technology we are using to send emails are amazon SES, have done SPF, DMIK, DMARC and added domains in apple identity services for mail communication, passed an SPF check as well. But still mail is not getting delivered what am i doing wrong or apple doesn't support third party apps for sending emails to private relay? Is there any other way to achieve this please let me know Using the same body as attached in image is working fine for rest emails.

Inquiry on Automatic Passkey Upgrades in iOS 26
Hi everyone, I’m working on adapting our app to iOS 26’s new passkey feature, specifically Automatic Passkey Upgrades. https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2025/279/ Our app already supports passkey registration and authentication, which have been running reliably in production. We’d like to extend passkey coverage to more users. According to the WWDC session, adding the parameter requestStyle: .conditional to createCredentialRegistrationRequest should allow the system to seamlessly upgrade an account with a passkey. However, in my testing, I consistently receive the following error: Error | Error Domain=com.apple.AuthenticationServices.AuthorizationError Code=1001 "(null)" Test environment: Xcode 26.0 beta 4 (17A5285i) iPhone 11 running iOS 26.0 (23A5297n) Questions: Is the Automatic Passkey Upgrades feature currently available in iOS 26? I understand that the system may perform internal checks and not all upgrade attempts will succeed. However, during development, is there a way to obtain more diagnostic information? At the moment, it’s unclear whether the failure is due to internal validation or an issue with my code or environment. Thanks.

Guidance on Building a Custom Referral Attribution System for iOS
Hello, I’m planning to develop a custom referral-based attribution system for my app. The goal is to log the number of installs that come from unique referral links and then track subsequent in‑app analytics (for example, when a user reaches level 5 in a game). I’d also like to capture the user’s country to further segment these analytics. I want to build this system myself—without relying on third‑party services (such as AppsFlyer or Branch) since I only need a few key data points and want to keep costs low. However, I’m aware of the privacy restrictions in iOS and want to ensure that my implementation complies with Apple’s guidelines. Specifically, I would appreciate guidance on the following: Permissible Signals: Is it acceptable to log signals like IP address (or a suitably anonymized version), device model, and timestamp to help correlate the referral click to a successful install and subsequent in‑app events? Are there any other recommended non‑PII signals that can be used to confirm a referral install without risking rejection during App Review? Best Practices: What are the best practices for handling and transmitting these signals (e.g., should IP addresses be truncated or hashed)? How can I ensure that my system remains compliant with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency and other privacy guidelines? I’d appreciate any insights or references to relevant documentation that might help me build this system without getting rejected by Apple. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Unexpected native popup during auth login/signout flow
We are implementing authentication login in our iOS mobile application, and during the sign-in/sign-out process, a native system popup appears with the following message: "This allows the app and website to share information about you." This popup interrupts the user experience, and we are concerned it may cause confusion for end users and negatively impact the adoption of our login flow. We would like clarification on the following points: What triggers this popup during the authentication process? Are there any recommended configurations or approaches to suppress or avoid this dialog? If the popup cannot be avoided, what best practices are suggested to ensure a clear and seamless user experience? Our objective is to provide a smooth, user-friendly authentication flow without unexpected system interruptions.

.pkg installation failing with "Not authorized to send Apple events to Finder" error in preinstall phase
I have a macOS package (.pkg) that checks for installed Java versions on the machine during the preinstall phase using a preinstall script. If the required Java version is not found, the script displays a message using osascript as shown below. /usr/bin/osascript -e 'tell application "Finder"' -e 'activate' -e 'display dialog "Java Development Kit (JDK) 11 is required" buttons{"OK"} with title "Myprod Warning"' -e 'end tell' So far, no issues have been observed with the installation of my package on all versions of macOS. However, on macOS 15.2, the installation is failing with a "Not authorized to send Apple events to Finder" error. Could someone please help me understand what might be causing this issue and how to resolve it?

Sudden Increase of Hard Bounce with privaterelay emails
We have been sending emails through Sparkpost via Braze inc. to the Apple Private Relay users with "@privaterelay.appleid.com" starting from around June 20th or so. Upon August 9th 06:00 UTC, we have noticed a sudden increase of "Hard Bounce" for nearly 20,000 users using the Apple's private relay email address, rendering the email sending useless for these customers. We have been constantly been able to send them emails, including just before this timeframe (e.g. August 9th 03:00 UTC), so it was a very sudden purge of the user data that has been done without our consent. From a business perspective, this hurts a lot for the un-sendable users since we have no way of contacting them if not for the private address. We are desperate to know what has happened for these customers that has been "hard bounced". We are suspecting that it should be tied to the private email and the users primary email (or user data's) tie in the Apple server being gone, but not sure enough since there is no such documentation nor any way to acknowledge what has happened anywhere. We will provide any information possible for resolving. Thank you.

Questions about Apple login authorization data behavior during App transfer
After the App transfer is initiated, will the replacement of the old and new certificates affect user authorization? (Based on some replies from DTS on the forum [Apple login authorization data is generated in combination with the team ID to which the App currently belongs], it is speculated that after the App transfer, during the period when the certificate configuration of the new team ID is not completed, authorization or authentication may not be performed normally, resulting in users being unable to use the Apple login function normally) During the 60-day migration period, if the user authorizes or cancels authorization and then authorizes again in the old app, will the authorized data be different? If so, will transfer_sub be included in the authorization operation?

App Tracking Transparency - Pre-Modal Explanation
Hi, I hope someone is able to help me with this query: Is there a mandatory requirement to display a view before presenting the App Tracking Transparency modal to explain to the user why the app is asking for tracking? I see there are a few apps which do this, but I don't see any mention of this as a mandatory requirement within the app store review guidelines. The modal can be customised with a description detailing why the app is asking for tracking and I believe this may be sufficient to pass an app store review. The guidelines also mention that the app must provide access to information about how and where the data will be used. We have these details in our privacy policy which is accessible from within the app. Is this sufficient or do we need a pre-modal view which contains a direct link the the privacy policy. Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

Privacy rights issue
I was in the webview long according to the pictures, and then select "save image" will lead to collapse, I have passed on the info plist add NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription solved it. Now I have another question, does the last item "query" in the screenshot have a similar problem? Since I couldn't click the button (I don't know why this happened), I couldn't test it on the real machine.
