I have a project that uses local SPM packages for modularization. In one of my local SPM packages I have a .storyboard file that gets packaged as a resource in the SPM package and consumed inside the parent.
In Xcode 15.4, the resource bundle for my local SPM Package has the bundle id PackageName-TargetName-resources. I use this inside a parent storyboard to reference the storyboard from the SPM package.
In Xcode 16, however, the resource bundle for my SPM Package gets assigned the bundle id packagename.TargetName.resources.
This, of courses, introduces a crash in builds of my app done with Xcode 16 due to the incorrect bundle id.
There is no documentation of this change that I could find by Apple or by the SPM team.
Apple Team: There is a Feedback Report FB14803020 with the build files attached from Xcode 15.4 and Xcode 16. I cannot attach those here due to the public nature of this forum

We have universal links which takes user to various journeys in the app when user clicks on the link, however it works only when app is installed. If app is not installed link takes user to the App Store and when the user installs and opens the app, the link does not launch the intended deeplink flow.
Is there any way we can pass context to app store and receive it when user opens the app?
Android provides similar functionality using install referral lib. Checking if similar is possible in iOS.
I came across several "errors" being reported when I run my app, however my app seems to function correctly.
I believe they fall in the category listed on this ( now locked ) thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/115461
However, I wanted to post the ones I found to clarify ( close to submission) just in case any of these end up being more than just log noise later. PLEASE let me know if you've come across these before and whether they impacted anything or if you can confirm they are just log noise. Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I'm unable to run any test cases in Xcode 16 with the iOS 18 simulator.
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a new iOS project in Xcode 16 using the default iOS app template with the testing option checked.
Run any test or UI test case by clicking the "Play" icon in the Test navigator.
Xcode gets stuck at the "Testing" state indefinitely.
Environment:
macOS 15 beta 8
Xcode 16 beta 6
iOS 18 beta 7 simulator
The Files app in the iOS 18 beta simulator appears to be read-only. I am unable to:
create folders
copy files into it by dragging them from macOS
safe files from safari
I have been unsuccessful at finding a way to popular any file or folder in the Files app which is preventing me from testing some scenarios in my app where I import files using the files sheet.
The earliest I tried was beta 3 and it still persists in beta 7. The iOS 17 simulator works fine in comparison.
My mac is a 2019 macbook pro running Sonoma 14.5.
To reproduce:
New folder
Launch Files app in iOS simulator
Tap into "On my phone"
From the top menu tap "New Folder"
(nothing happens)
Download a file
Launch safari
Find a file like a PDF to download
Tap on the down arrow in the toolbar
Files opens up with the filename in the textfield at the bottom
The "Save" button is grayed out.
Copy from macOS
Open the Files app in iOS and browse to a local folder
drag a file from the macbook onto the simulator
the sheet appears with the filename in the text field
The "Save" button is grayed out
Hello,
I would like to inquire about the release date of Swift Assist’s beta version. Apple has stated that it will be released later this year, but they have not provided a specific date or time.
Could you please provide information on the beta version’s release date? Additionally, is there a trial version available? If so, when was it released?
Thank you for your assistance.
Trying to examine performance issues in Xcode Instruments using the Animation Hitches instrument in Xcode 16.0 beta 6 (16A5230g).
When connected to my iPhone 15 Pro Max and I try to start a run with my app, it has an error “Failed to split user provided arguments: working directory doesn't exist” with timestamp “(Before Run Started)”. When running the app on an iOS simulator, the instrument runs fine—but I want to profile on a real device.
Instruments > Settings, Recording Location set to Default and that directory does exist.
Hello,
I'm getting started for my project with Xcode Cloud since I upgraded to the macOS Sequioa Beta and Xcode 16 now refuses to archive builds for TestFlight.
Somewhere very late in the build process I get the following error:
realitytool requires Metal for this operation and it is not available in this build environment
The log says this happens at:
Compile Skybox urban.skybox
My project uses RealityKit. How can I fix this issue?
Thanks!
Hello,
Is anyone experiencing devices on OS 17 disconnecting from Xcode 15 and 16 Beta? I remember there were a lot of past conversations around the time when iOS 17 released but it seems to still be happening even after using Xcode 16 beta. Re-pairing devices and rebooting the hosts appear to fix it temporarily. I discovered that killing the remoted process also allows xcode to reconnect to the devices.
Using Xcode 16's devicectl also doesn't work. I have my devices connected to a USB Hub and to multiple devices. The odd thing is I have iOS 16 devices connected and those don't disconnect. I believe iOS 17 introduced a new coredevice stack to connect but has anyone found a fix for it or have any recommendations?
TN3158 isn't relevant in my situation because VPN and Packet filtering is not in use and I filed feedback with Apple but they have't responded in a long time.
On iOS 18.0+ simulators, tap any share link button from any app, select "Save to Files", the "Save" button is disabled.
In all previous simulator versions this works. This behavior even happens with default Apple apps like Photos.
Simulator: Version 16.0 (1037)
XCode: Version 16.1 beta (16B5001e)
macOS: 14.6.1 (23G93)
I have some formatting strings that got in my string catalog, e.g. "%@" or "(%@)".
However these strings are no longer used in my code anywhere (searching "In this project" in Xcode only matches the entries in my strings catalog), but Xcode does not remove them.
I tried editing the file in a text editor, removing them manually but they keep coming back.
Any solution for this?

I have updated the packages to 11.9.0 (lasted) and Xcode 16 to 16 RC (lasted also) and I would like to know how to fix this... With Xcode 15 I have no problem !! I can export with no warnings ! But now with Xcode 16 no... Thanks for helping !
I have installed Sequoia and Xcode 16 and now I can't add packages to my (or any project). I just get a message saying the package can't be resolved. Basically I can't carry on developing.
SORT THIS OUT APPLE
I've updated my computer to Sequoia 15, Xcode 16 and now no matter what I do, I am unable to work with Swift UI previews.
I get this error each time I try to run the preview:
Failed to launch app in reasonable time
I have done:
Uninstall/Re-install Xcode
Deleted derived data
Deleted the simulator data
Used DevCleaner to remove all data related to Xcode
Searched all websites about this issue. ( Non shown a good solution )
Write this question on here.
If anyone has found a solution, please let me know how you fixed it.
I am developing an app that uses CoreBluetooth to communicate with a proprietary piece of hardware. I would like to be able to write tests for it, but there does not seem to be any way to mock or simulate the presence of, for example a CBPeripheral object.
This library (https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/IOS-CoreBluetooth-Mock) almost does what I need, but it's not quite flexible enough. I think they have the right idea, but it doesn't seem to be actively maintained anymore.
This seems like a pretty big hole in the iOS SDK. Is there really not an officially supported way of testing BLE functionality?
Comments are not displayed correctly in Xcode 16. As you can see on the included screenshot, the first /// are displayed correctly but the remaining ////////////////////////// are super small.
In a programming text editor, like Xcode, all characters MUST be monospaced. Otherwise it is impossible to code. Xcode is not supposed to be a word processor.
There are no parameters to fix that. It was working fine for the past 15 years on Xcode. Please fix that so I can work again. And never do that ever again. Understood?

I had no issues previously with my iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 18 and my XCode 15. Now, after switching to the iPhone 16 Pro, it won't work.
I've tried restarting my phone several times, quitting XCode, removing and readding developer mode—nothing quite works.
I just created a new project in the newest version of Xcode as a sample project for a feedback.
Bug 1
So simply what I do in every new project is create a "Supporting Files" group (not a folder because I don't want to move these files on the file system). I put the following files in this group:
.entitlements file
-the Info.plist (which apparently new projects don't create anymore because I don't see one).
main.m
Assets.xcassets
In previous version of Xcode this was done with the "New Group without Folder" action (though back in the day I believe you'd get yellow folders in "New Group" and blue folder with 'New Folder" and they were separate actions.... which was actually better and much less insane IMO but that's not really important to this).
In any case, "New Group without Folder" is nowhere to be found in the context menu. I finally was able to get "New Group" to appear as long as I wasn't right clicking underneath any directory. But.... New Group actually creates a New Folder, just like New Folder. So I put the .entitlements in the Supporting Files group (which is not a group, but a directory) and the app won't compile unless I fix the path in project settings because I moved the file which is most definitely not what I wanted.
So we can no longer group files in the project navigator without moving them to new directories? Is this intentional behavior? It can't be, right?
Bug 2
I noticed dragging and dropping to reorder files in the project navigator no longer seems to work? In previous versions of Xcode I could drag and drop to reorder files (in groups and in folders, this would work). This appears to no longer work. I just have to accept the way Xcode orders my project files?
Hi,
I recently updated to Xcode 16. Since then I successfully built my app and sent an update to the App Store.
But suddenly, after an exception I've experienced while working on my code, the app is crashing on launch, without showing the stack trace, and showing only one warning in the console:
warning: (arm64) /Users/myuser/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/myapp-bglvscamatwthwbfqmtzmbvxeewc/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator/myapp.app/MyApp empty dSYM file detected, dSYM was created with an executable with no debug info.
Tried deleting derived data
Erasing all simulator data
Reseting my computer
No change yet. Any idea what am I missing?
Thank you..
