Hi,
I compiled Intel Open Image Denoise library for iOS, and obtained a bunch of dependent dylibs. I want to use these ones in a swift project (via bridging as this is C/C++) targeting the iPad.
I understand that it is required to embed these dylibs into frameworks as iOS doesn't allow dylib.
Is it necessary to generate one framework for each dylib? If so, how are dependencies between the libraries (and their frameworks) managed?
Or, is it possible to generate only one framework embeding all the dependencies?

Hi, I am currently working on a MacOS App, where I need the undistortion function of opencv. But after I tried to add opencv to my project, I get following error: unexpected service error: The Xcode build system has crashed. Build again to continue.
Cleaning the build folder also doesn't help. Does anyone have an idea what could be the issue?
Ryan
Hello All, I see an issue while running the Notification content Extension on simulator without checking the "Copy only when installing in app target -> Build Phases -> Embed App Extensions"
If I check "Copy only when installing in app target" then only it is working.
Can someone please confirm if Notification Content Extension is working on simulator. If yes how can we do that. Please share the details
I'm having trouble with this Info.plist for Firebase
Frameworks/FirebaseFirestoreInternal.framework/Info.plist unable to install
It looks like Firebase removed Info.plist files in 10.20.0. and its causing this error below. Most of the online support says to update Cocafile PODs to not embed however I can't find any solutions for Package Manager.

Hey,
I've been having a lot of problems with Xcode 16 not seeing changes made to code in local Swift packages (the packages are inside the root directory of the project).
Whenever I make any change like renaming a variable or type, or adding new methods or whatever, autocomplete doesn't see those changes and when I type in that new type/variable manually it gives me an error. However, building the project still works fine, even with the errors never going away.
The only way for it to notice the code changes is to clean the project and build it again which takes a long time.
At first, I thought this was connected to the new "Explicitly built modules" feature in Xcode 16, but I turned it off and it still happens.
Any ideas what I can try? I'm on the latest Xcode version, but this problem has been happening since Xcode 16 originally came out.
Thanks!
Dennis
Start from clean iOS 18.4 simulator. Application tried to request authorisation from user for microphone access. Clicking allow caused the application crashed.
Used Swift 6. Report Identifier FB17686864.
Xcode 16 seems to „forget“ a swift package within a subfolder of a root package after restart or shut-down.
I have the following project structure, which also resembles the directory structure on disc:
MyPackage
- Package.swift
- README.md
- Sources
- MyPackage
- Tests
- MyPackageTests
- Tools
- MyGenerator // <- after restart this folder is not visible in the Xcode project navigator
- Package.swift
- Sources
- main.swift
- Tests
MyGenerator is a standalone package which is used during development of MyPackage to generate source code files for MyPackage based on text file input. Essentially an executable target script which I can run within its folder with:
swift run MyGenerator someInputFile.txt
MyPackage does NOT use MyGenerator as a dependency, nor do I want this tool listed as a dependency in MyPackage Package.swift file.
Yet MyGenerator is part of the same Git repo, as it documents the changes to the tool on how to generate source code for MyPackage. Both packages are developed in tandem.
MyGenerator itself defines dependencies in its Package.swift file, which are unrelated to the functionality of MyPackage.
After restart of Xcode or even just a longer shut-down period the MyGenerator subfolder is not visible in the Xcode project navigator, the /Tools folder is empty. I have to manually add the sub package via Add files to "MyPackage" -> Move files to destination every time.
How can I solve that Xcode remembers the sub package unter /Tools?
Edit: I am using Xcode 16.2
We using below command to run unit test and collect coverage:
xcodebuild -workspace Demo.xcworkspace -scheme VideoTests -configuration Debug -derivedDataPath ../build/derivedData -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,id=E6630007-570B-4DEB-A023-2BCE91116A8D' -resultBundlePath './fastlane/test_output/VideoTests.xcresult' -enableCodeCoverage YES -testPlan 'Video' test-without-building | tee '/Users/rcadmin/Library/Logs/scan/VideoTests.log' | xcbeautify -q --is-ci
and using xcrun llvm-cov show command to generate coverage report:
xcrun llvm-cov show /build/unit-test/coverage/libraries/merged/video.o -instr-profile=/app/ios/build/derivedData/Build//ProfileData/E6630007-570B-4DEB-A023-2BCE91116A8D/video.profdata -show-branches count -show-expansions -show-line-counts -use-color -format=html -output-dir coverage
and the html report does not include branch coverage:
how to generate the branch coverage?
I've recently upgraded to Sequoia and Xcode 16.3 (now 16.4RC) and a significant change I've noticed vs 16.2 is that the height of UINavigationBar components in storyboards and XIBs is incorrect.
Xcode 16.2:
Xcode 16.4:
This only affects simulated metrics in storyboard / XIB files.
I have been unable to find any discussion of this issue anywhere online.
Is this actually an Xcode bug that has gone unnoticed / unfixed or is there some underlying intentional change here that I'm unaware of?

What I want?
I expect to use xcrun devicectl device process launch --device <uuid> <bundle-identifier> --payload-url <URL> to launch my app and pass the specified URL as I usually do in iPhone.
What I do?
Let's say the app A which I'm developing.
I try to use UIApplication.open(:options:completionHandler:) in another app to open the app A with registered schema. And whether app A is cold launch or background resumption, app A can go foreground with receiving URL.
If I use xcrun devicectl as above described, app A can still be opened. However, app A can't receive URL which I pass through --payload-url option. That's different from in iOS.
BTW: I as well try YouTube with UIApplication.open and xcrun devicectl, the former way work, the latter way not work.

Hi everyone,
We're developing an AR app using Unity with Vuforia for object detection. Our app works well in full-screen mode, including detection and post-detection phases. However, we're facing a specific issue in iPad Split View multitasking mode.
Problem:
The AR camera (Vuforia-based) freezes during object detection if another app is opened in Split View.
Post-detection, everything works fine in Split View. The problem only occurs during detection.
Testing Environment:
iPadOS 16+
Unity with Vuforia plugin
Using EnableMultitaskingCameraAccess() method with AVFoundation to support camera multitasking
AR scene is set up properly with detection capabilities in full-screen
In the test plan settings, it's possible to select an .xcappdata bundle for a set of tests:
I failed to find any documentation about it in the context of macOS apps testing. What I'm trying to achieve is having a sandboxed app container (/Users/{user}/Library/Containers/{bundle-id)/Data/) replaced before running a test suite.
Is it something possible to achieve using the latest Xcode? What should be the .xcappdata structure to make it work on macOS?
Where are the local documentation files location on MacOS? None of the existing data on the internet is applicable anymore.
Trying to bundle documentation for use in an LLM and the developer site is unusable for crawling.
Thanks!

Our business is to scan the code to open App Clip, but then App Clip will appear in App Library and Siri Suggestions. This can be opened quickly, but the URL of the last scan will be included. This will cause a problem, for example: if the previous scan was code A, but the user does not scan code B when going to place B and directly opens it through App Library or Siri Suggestions, the code I get is still code A, so the result I want is that I want to know where it was opened from, and then if it is opened quickly, I will clear the URL and remind the user to scan the code again. Or if it is opened by quick opening, do not include the URL

Xcode 16 insists on showing deprecations of this type:
Some.xib SF Symbol 'doc.on.doc' is deprecated, use 'document.on.document' instead.
The problem is that the XIBs in question are set with a Deployment Target of macOS 12, where "document.on.document" actually isn't available and produces a missing image.
So the warnings are wrong, as they ignore the deployment target set on the XIB. I filed a bug against this long ago and it was ignored. Having given up... does anyone know how to disable this particular warning?
When trying to use the watchOS preview the simulator fails to load and throws about 15 errors. Clearly the simulator is trying to load all of the iOS packages to the watchOS simulator. However, these packages clearly aren't included in the watchOS app. Furthermore, both apps build successfully to the main simulators, just not the previews. Having a list of errors that simply should not be there is a pretty big annoyance when something is going wrong. How do I fix this?
I have the this issue when I run the app on iOS Simulator after updating to app to make it compatible with Xcode-16 and iOS-18. after upgradation to Xcode-16 its giving the above error "Executable path is a directory" .This app work fine on Xcode-15 .
Note - The issue with iOS Simulator only. From XCode-16 build is created successfully and installed in iOS device.

I am developing a game that has 3 team members.
I can manually start up 3 simulators and run the game for developing/testing but seem like there should be a simple way to click build/run and have it launch on all three automatically.
Does anyone know how to do this or if its even possible without writing some scripts?
