Hello,
I have an iphone but not an ipad
Actually a relative has an iPad.
The problem I encoutered was when i was testing an app that I had built prior (so I had the ipa file) but no acces to Xcode.
The thing is when I wanted to test it on my iphone, everything WENT SMOOTH and ok.
When I tried on iPAD, I encounteed the problem I could not unlock the hidden "developer mode" option in any way, I tried so many things, checked and rechecked, the option was and stayed hidden, I could not activate it. Therefore I could not test the app.
In the apple store I was required to give a screenshot for iPAD but that failed. because I could not produce ANY, since I could not run my app on iPAD.
I actually have no idea how I activated the ability to turn on the developer mode on my iphone, it was just there and I activated it
perhaps because I had added the email of my iphone to the developer account somehow? somehwere?
But for iPAD I just could not find a way to do it, don't know if adding it somewhere could trigger something on the ipad to allow it to show the developer mode option so I can activate it finally?
Anyway, I tried things I read on internet, methods that mention how to activate the developer mode ability on an ios devide though WINDOWS, there were 2 but one I did not trust much, and even I think i tried it and in the end it did not work for some incompatibility making that method obsolete or something? the other I am not sure but probably same idea.
I would like to know, how to activate the ABILITY to SHOW the option to activate the developer mode on iPAD (or any other device but for now I am focuson on iPad) please, and without using macbook or xcode!?
Could Apple or anyone offer some guidance?
That would help a fellow developer.
Thank you.
Ps. No I cant get the mac or xcode for now (but hopefully in a far future, but for now I can't). Thanks

Hi, I’m having trouble installing GPT 1.1 on macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 using Xcode Command Line Tools 16.0.
I downloaded Evaluation Environment for Windows Games 2.1, mounted the image, and opened the README file. Then, I followed Option 2 to build the environment from scratch:
Set up your development and Homebrew environment
Ensure you are using Command Line Tools for Xcode 15.1. You can download this older version from:
https://developer.apple.com/downloads
Note: There is a header file layout change that prevents using newer versions of the macOS SDK.
softwareupdate --install-rosetta
arch -x86_64 zsh
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
which brew
brew tap apple/apple http://github.com/apple/homebrew-apple
brew -v install apple/apple/game-porting-toolkit
At first, I noticed that I needed to use CLT 15.1, which is not supported on later macOS versions (including mine). Even when I tried using 15.3 (which is somehow supported), I received a message stating that I needed CLT v16.0 or higher to install GPT.
After following all the steps and waiting for the installation to complete, I got the following error:

The app I'm working on has iOS 16.0 as target. Recently Live Activities support was added, but then it started crashing when running on iOS 16.0 devices.
After some investigation, I've found that the culprit was the presence of NSUserActivityTypeLiveActivity and WidgetCenter.UserInfoKey.activityID, even though they were inside an @available(iOS 17.2, *) block. If I comment these two variables, the app work as expected. I've also tried adding #if canImport(ActivityKit) around the code, but without success.
But if the @available isn't working, how can I prevent this? It looks like a bug, since the documentation says that NSUserActivityTypeLiveActivity is supported but iOS 14.0+, but I'm pretty sure it was introduced on 16.1.
This is the only output I get with the crash:

Hey, I am using the terminal a lot. Since I updated to Sonoma (so, really a long time ago). My prompt or more precise the hostname always changes between three states. Sometimes it is username@Macbook-Pro-of-XXX, sometimes username@MacbookPro and sometimes it's username@xxxxxxxx-yyyy-zzzz-aaaa-bbbbbbbbbbbb. The latter is probably my UUID. Does anyone have a clue why this randomly changes?
I am using Swift Testing for TDD my project. I have a struct that contains an array of 65536 UInt8's along with other properties. I am testing methods that modify the properties of the struct including the contents of the array.
In just one of my test files, any test fails (there are several in the file), the entire contents of the struct, including the array, are printed to the console. In another test file they are not. I'm don't think there are any differences to the test setup in the two files. Any idea what's going on?
I'm able get the program to skip the dump to the console by copying the properties I want to test to local let constants and testing those.
Thanks
I am trying to get my app deployed to an iOs device (iphone 14) from Visual Studio on Windows 11. If the device I am trying to deploy to is included in https://developer.apple.com/account/resources/devices/list then I see below error in Visual Studio logs.
Xamarin.Messaging.IDB.AppleProvisioningManager Error: 0 : Xamarin.MacDev.AppleSigning.AppleServerException: A device with number '0000xxxx-0014093926Bxxxx' already exists on this team.
at Xamarin.MacDev.AppleSigning.AppStoreDeveloperPortal.d__42.MoveNext() in D:\a_work\1\s\External\maciostools\Xamarin.MacDev.AppleSigning\AppleDeveloperPortal\AppStoreDeveloperPortal.cs:line 913
If I disable it I see below error in Visual Studio logs:
Xamarin.Messaging.Client.MessagingClient Error: 0 : An error occurred on the receiver while executing a post for topic xvs/idb/auto-provision and client vs26896sv3
Xamarin.Messaging.Exceptions.MessagingRemoteException: An error occurred on client xxxxxxx while executing a reply for topic xvs/idb/auto-provision ---> Newtonsoft.Json.JsonSerializationException: Error converting value {null} to type 'System.DateTime'. Path 'data.attributes.addedDate', line 6, position 24
I am seeing no option to completely remove the device from the list. How can this issue be fixed?

I’ve officially given up trying to release my app on iOS.
Apple’s latest rejection quotes:
• Guideline 5.1.5 – Location Services
“The app uses location data for features that are not relevant to a user’s location. Specifically, the app is not functional when Location Services are disabled. To resolve this issue, please revise the app so that the app is fully functional without requiring the user to enable Location Services.”
• Guideline 5.1.1 – Data Collection and Storage
Complaining that the app “encourages or directs” users to go to Settings to enable location.
My app is literally built around live location. The entire point is: you walk the circuit, see telemetry synced with where you are. No location, no app. That is the product. Apple wants the app to be “fully functional” without the one thing it needs to exist. That’s like rejecting a camera app because it doesn’t “fully function” with no camera permission.
What makes this worse is the complete lack of consistency. Every time I fix what they ask, the next review comes back with a different problem, instead of a clear list of issues to solve in one go. No stable checklist, no coherent interpretation, just moving goalposts and copy-paste template replies that ignore reviewer notes and how the app actually works.
They don’t seem to understand how incapable this process is for serious, niche apps. It’s not about quality or privacy at this point, it’s about box-ticking and cover-your-back behaviour. Meanwhile, small devs are supposed to burn weeks rewriting core flows just to satisfy someone who clearly hasn’t even tried to use the app properly.
I’ve decided to keep the app Android-only. iOS simply isn’t worth fighting with a review system that can’t even be consistent with its own guidelines.
Has anyone else had similar problems with Apple inventing a new issue every review instead of giving you one clear, stable set of requirements to fix?

I have an issue when i use external tester with a public link and emails.
Test fly is well installed but when i have to open the app, it just charge as seen in the screen.
We're having issues getting Sign in with Google to function on TestFlight (not experiencing these issues on iOS Browser) with user unable to be authorised and proceed to logged in screens of our app.
Below are the three sign-in methods tested and the exact results for each.
Button 1: Default
Standard Google Sign-In button (Google JavaScript SDK) embedded in the frontend.
Uses the normal OAuth browser redirect flow.
Auth URL: https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/v2/auth?...
Sometimes disallowed_useragent error.
Other times a 400 invalid_request error.
In most cases the callback is never triggered inside the wrapper.
Appears that the wrapper does not retain cookies/session data from the external Google window.
Button 2: Custom
Custom button calling Google OAuth through our own redirect handler.
Explicitly set a custom user-agent to bypass disallowed user agent logic.
Later removed user-agent override entirely for testing.
Added multiple ATS (App Transport Security) exceptions for Google domains.
Added custom URL scheme to Info.plist for OAuth redirect.
Changing the user-agent had no effect.
ATS exceptions + scheme support verified and working.
Redirect still fails to propagate tokens back to the WebView.
In tests a few weeks ago we got to Google’s login page, but it never returned to the app with a valid code. Now
we are consistently getting disallowed_useragent error.
Button 3: Default
Same as Button 1 however tested outside of Vue.js with just plain JavaScript.
Added new Google domain exceptions and updated redirect URIs.
Behaviour matches Button 1
Google account selection sometimes worked, however now consitently disallowed_useragent error
Additional Technical Attempts
User-Agent Modifications
Set UA to standard desktop Chrome → no effect.
Removed UA override → no effect.
ATS / Domain / Scheme Configuration
Added:
accounts.google.com
.googleusercontent.com
*.googleapis.com
Apologies if this isn't tagged right but dev tools and services seemed the most appropriate since this is related to the workbench Ad Tester tool. I'm seeing a behavior where the preview link is not being generated. Specifically, I am seeing a POST request to the following URL consistently fail:
https://iadworkbench.apple.com/adtester/api/v1/ads/previewLink?orgId=1127861
Variations/scenarios I have tried so far:
All possible ad format choices on all possible devices
All options for the placement type
Both third party and uploaded creative sources
Uploaded creative sources appear to be failing to upload as well
A simple div with a "hello world" content fails as a third party creative source
Multiple apple accounts
I created a new account specifically to test if my primary apple ID was experiencing issues with this
Multiple browsers
I have tried multiple versions of Chrome/Firefox/Safari
I tested with and without browser extensions to determine whether an extension was interfering or not
Clearing session/local storage along with cookies
I also created new profiles in browsers to verify that I was getting a fresh browser environment
In all of these cases, the API request to generate a preview link is consistently failing with a 500 error code. It's worth noting that the web preview option works, but this isn't a truly accurate test environment and can't be solely relied on when testing ad content.
I don't know exactly when this started happening as I have not used it in the last couple of weeks but I have used the workbench ad tester extensively in the past the same way I have been trying with my current test without issue. That coupled with the fact that the request for the preview link consistently fails in all of the test scenarios I've outlined above leads me to believe there is a problem with the API that is responsible for generating the preview links.
I am new to Find My network development and i am going to use Nordic solution for my FMN application.
I have asked the MFi representative to enable the "Find My network" in our MFi portal. But there are just a sets of PDF in the "Find My network" under "Technology" in MFi Portal.
Is there any Find My network Supplementary Agreement in MFi portal? Is it a PDF or where can i find it?
Because I need to sign this document back to Nordic solution representative. But it seems there are no such
FMN Supplementary Agreement.

Hello,
We tried calling Apple support who suggested they cannot help and work thru emails and discussion forums to resolve the technical issue we are facing to post our first App in App Store.
I have given admin level credential to my son (minor) allowing him to incorporate his Xcode to App Store with his credentials. Apparently, he keeps getting error he does not have enough credentials to do so and we are unable to proceed further. I acknowledge I am not a developer & Apple support team was unable to help, I wonder if there is specific support channel I need to follow to resolve the issue. His App is going to help is Robotics team in upcoming event and we appreciate if someone can kindly point me to right direction to resolve the matter at earliest.

On macOS, I get a system popup when running UI tests in GitHub saying:
“bash” is requesting to bypass the system private window picker and directly access your screen and audio.
How can I prevent these login and screen access popups from appearing during automated UI tests? Is there an official setup or configuration for running IntelliJ UI tests in CI environments (macOS, Linux, Windows) to avoid such dialogs? My builds run in GitHub Actions VMs, so I can’t manually grant these permissions, and they block the tests.
where can i find the account quota usage for WeatherAPI?
iphone 15 pro max

Stuck at the developer mode startup interface and unable to swipe up.
For the Linux version of my application which is written in C++ using Qt, I display the CHM format help files with this code:
QString helpFile{ QCoreApplication::applicationDirPath() + "/Help/" + tr("DeepSkyStacker Help.chm","IDS_HELPFILE") };
QString program{ "kchmviewer" };
QStringList arguments{ "-token", "com.github.deepskystacker", helpFile };
helpProcess->startDetached(program, arguments);
(helpProcess is a pointer to a QProcess object)
The -token com.github.deepskystackerpart of that ensures that only a single instance of the viewer is used for any code that uses that invocation.
Are there any chm file viewers for macOS that are capable of that sort of trick? The ones I've found on the App Store give minimal information and appear to be very simple minded tools that are not not intended for integration into an application as above.
I know that MacPorts offers ports of kchmviewer but I'd prefer not to use either that or HomeBrew ...
