I have an idea for an app for awhile (5+ years) and it took awhile (a year or more to figure out how to develop on - I know C/C++/FORTRAN, started in the punch card era). I ended up using the MacBook I had, some books and chatGPT and plunged into development. BTW this was all happening while I'm retired, included moving to FL from MD. There are times where development stops for months at a time, I've started and stopped at least four or five times on different portions of the project. I've realized that I can actually skip the user interface until the end if ever. At the beginning of code development, I did little more that "Hello world" programs to get my feet wet. Golf, pickleball, doctor appointments, etc. interrupts development. When I get back to it, my code has "disappeared", I open Xcode, open the project and I don't see any of my code - where did it go? I did find the code using the Finder in Directory/projname/projname/ContentView.swift (I'm not sure why projname is duplicated, no doubt my ignorance!) - so the code is still present, somewhere!

Hi, I've been trying to debug an issue with my extension. I am able to register the extension on install of my app, can select it under Phone> SMS/Call Reporting. When I touch Report it brings up my view controller, with the sender and message details. I set let response = ILClassificationResponse(action: .reportJunk) I've added debug logs throughout my extension and everything looks good. I wish to have all spotlight services stopped on my MacBook, however with turning all options off in the settings and also the "Help Apple Improve Search" option, however the option turns back on whenever there is a restart on the laptop as well as background services running. How can I disable this permanently? I used spotlight search for almost everything I do through cmd+space. However ever since i updated my laptop to MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1, the spotlight search won't give me app results: for example i type "flux" and will get just web-based results, not the app. I tried going into the spotlight settings and only enabling applications to be searched for results and got nothing. I tried the same with the Notes app, i get the same result, i get some notes i wrote as result but not the actual app. It doesn't happen on all apps for example Brave or Spotify work.

Hi there, with the latest update, the ability to click in the file name field at the top of a document (eg Pages, Numbers) to add or change the name of the file, then select filing location, no longer works. Previously, a user could do this and then hit 'return' and it would save to that location with that new file name. It no longer does this. This is a very useful functionality to have. Can it be returned in a future update?

Sometimes, when I close the lid using the MacOs version Sequoia 15.2, with the configuration to require a password for 5 seconds, the system does not ask for the password as expected. This happens sometimes even though nothing preventing the system from sleeping when you close and open the lid, but it still seems like a security concern. Is there some known issue related to this problem or a way to avoid it? Result of command pmset -g: Configuration:

The Uber Driver app is able to get background location and there’s no way to turn it off from settings. Unlike other apps where there’s always an option to turn off background location from settings. Is this a bug or special treatment for big companies? this matters to me because we’re in a similar business but our app has to request background permissions, explicitly. I am attaching both of the screenshots here for you to compare and see. Please note that I verified personally that Uber Driver app is able to get background location.

I have an old application. It worked at one time. Due to changes in the user environment, it is now possible to download applications from the AppStore. I built the app and sent it for review. And I received a report that my app crashed at startup. I tried to reproduce the fall for myself, but it didn't work out. In the crash log, I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the app. Please help me and tell me what I should look for in the log or in the application. Currently running 15.5 Beta 3 on a Mac Studio M4. I am unable to read/write to my Home folder from most of my applications. I receive an error basically saying I do not have access rights to the file/folder. If I go to the file directly and open it, it works. I have repaired disk permissions, checked the Sharing & Permissions settings via Get Info, and finally called Apple. Of course, since I am running the beta, the support was quite limited. I will add that I am also unable to open .dmgs that have been downloaded to my Downloads folder. I receive the "The disk image couldn’t be opened. The operation couldn’t be completed. Operation not permitted" error. If I copy the .dmg to another drive, I can open it from there.

Immediately post iOS 18.4 upgrade yesterday 2023 MacBook Pro 14″ battery level dropped to zero and indicates "Service Recommended". System report shows battery charge cycles at "0". Wondering if others have seen this occurance on other laptops?

I’m developing an app that has a Fitbit login page embedded in a WKWebView. On the Fitbit login page, there is a Google login button. When I try to log in to Fitbit via Google, some devices redirect back to the Fitbit login page even after entering the correct Google credentials. However, it works on the second attempt. I tested the same URL in the default browser, and it works fine when the page is loaded in the browser instead of inside the WebView. I tried the following workarounds but was unable to fix the issue: 1. Enabled JavaScript in WebView. 2. Tried cookie synchronization between WKWebsiteDataStore and HTTPCookieStorage.
