Hello,
I've noticed some unexpected behavior when updating a user's FileVault password.
The set up:
All actions are performed in virtualized macOS 14 and 15.5 guests on a 15.5 Apple Silicon host.
FileVault is enabled.
sjsp is a standard user with a Secure Token.
The Mac is bound to AD, and the domain is reachable.
Reproduction:
systemctl -secureTokenStatus sjsp shows it's ENABLED.
fdesetup remove -user sjsp
fdesetup add -usertoadd sjsp
systemctl -secureTokenStatus sjsp shows it's DISABLED.
Surprisingly, sjsp is still able to unlock FileVault.
Looking at unified logs for opendirectoryd and fdesetup, I see that a password change is being attempted in response to fdesetup add, which is unexpected.

If I disconnect the network and follow the reproduction steps then the Secure Token is retained. Reconnecting and waiting a while doesn't cause the Secure Token to be lost. There are no log entries about attempting to change the password.
Any help or explanation would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Hello !
Currently, we have customers who use about 5,000 devices.
In the case of ios26, the phone number is not acquired overall, and 18.x, 17.x, and 16.x are all acquired in half and not acquired in half.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/deviceinformationcommand/command-data.dictionary/queries-data.dictionary
It seems that it is the right behavior not to acquire it on the specification sheet.
However, I wonder when it became impossible to acquire. (There are devices that can be acquired and devices that can't be acquired in the same os version.)
Will the devices that are being acquired be blocked someday?
When it was developed in 2019, it was in a state that could be acquired in full.
I would also like to ask if there is an alternative way to get your phone number.
Thank you.

Hi guys, I need to configure a VPN to work only for specific apps. I already have a supervised iPhone, and I’ve successfully configured the VPN, but right now it applies to the whole phone. I need it to work just for some apps.
I tried using both Apple Configurator and iMazing, but I can’t find this option there.
I have an issue with my MDM setup. The Push notification that installs and updates configuration profile in the device is no longer working. It was working
before Apple developer account got expired
we renewed our apple developer account and then retried and we got the device enrollment working just fine. Now when we are updating configuration profile and MDM server is supposed to notify the device using push notification, this is the part where its not working.
Are the certs faulty now since the account was expired?
Would just renewal of the Push cert work?
Will I have to setup the certs all over again?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I just want to add a in-app purchase project to my app,
steps:
1.i create a product in App Store Connect ,the product id is "com.buy.once.me"
2.in Xcode,i create " SubscriptionStoreView(productIDs:["com.buy.once.me"])" in a view
3. the view show "subscription unavailable the subscription is unavailable in the current storefront"
I don't know what the problem is ,anyone help me,thanks
Hi,
I am trying to enable declarative management on my device ( it is already enrolled as a sharedIpad with DEP).
When sendind the command, the device's response contains an error. It is not acknowledged. Either on the device channel or on the user channel.
The device channel returns :
'ErrorChain': [{'ErrorCode': 4, 'ErrorDomain': 'RMErrorDomain', 'LocalizedDescription': 'Feature Disabled: Device Channel.'}], 'Status': 'Error',
and the user channel returns :
'ErrorChain': [{'ErrorCode': 12021, 'ErrorDomain': 'MDMErrorDomain', 'LocalizedDescription': '“DeclarativeManagement” is not a valid request type.', 'USEnglishDescription': '“DeclarativeManagement” is not a valid request type.'}], 'Status': 'Error',
Does DEP device support declarative management?
Thanks.
Hello everyone,
I recently changed the phone number associated with my Apple ID (about 4 days ago), but I’m still receiving the two-factor authentication verification codes on my old number instead of the new one.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a delay on Apple’s side, or is there something else I need to do to complete the update?
Is it mandatory to get explicit user consent in iOS apps to collect their product usage data anonymously with something like mixpanel.
Note: this is not for advertising purposes, but only to make the product better based on usage patterns.
We are going to replace our iPhone SE to iPhone 16e.
The issue is that we are unable to install an in-house app on the new iPhone 16e. The app works on the iPhone SE
Both phones run on the same iOS version (18.5)
Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
I initially thought the iPhone 16e was the successor to the iPhone SE

Hello all,
We have built our own MDM solution as we plan to support quite a few devices running iOS.
Manual activation is running fine and devices are checking in.
We have setup ABM with Device management service setup and linked to our MDM. We have added reseller via Apple customer number and purchased devices are showing in ABM. We have setup default management service assignment as well.
When we are setting up a device it gives an error:
Remote Management
The configuration for your iPhone could not be downloaded from .
cancelled
Error in the device log is as follows:

Hello,
I am an iOS developer managing an MDM app.
In this app, we are only using the camera restriction feature.
Can the MDM status (specifically, the camera state) be changed while the user's screen is locked?
We want to communicate with our server in the background and apply changes, but there is no known information about this.
I would appreciate your help!

how can i generate MDM Push Certificate for my own MDM server. Please guide me on that.
How to test ManagedAppConfigurationProvider without MDM ?
Task { /* Configuration provider task */
for await configuration in configurationProvider.configurations(MyAppConfiguration.self) {
self.configuration = configuration ?? MyAppConfiguration.defaultConfiguration
}
}
Can the existence of a configuration be simulated, e.g. by storing a mocked configuration in UserDefaults? The UserDefaults key "com.apple.configuration.managed" seems not relevant here.

We’re looking for best practices to remotely update iOS apps that are deployed in Single App Mode (SAM) or Autonomous Single App Mode (ASAM), managed through MDM.
Imagine a typical use case: an iPad installed as a self-service kiosk at an airport restaurant. We need to update the app periodically without:
Displaying any prompts to the user
Relying on the user to approve or initiate the update (since the device is unattended)
Sending technicians onsite, as many devices are in remote locations
MDM providers have stated, “This is how Apple handles it,” without offering a workable solution. We’re hoping someone here has experience or suggestions for:
Seamless or silent app updates in SAM/ASAM
Update workflows that avoid interruptions or user interaction
Any proven strategies or automation options under MDM supervision
Any insight or documented approaches would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
