ExFAT External Drive Deletion is Slow
Hello guys, I wanted to reach out to see if any of you have experienced or come across an issue we are facing in our organization. We are encountering a campus-wide problem where Macs are take an unusually long time to delete files on external drives formatted with ExFAT. We manage these Macs through Jamf Pro, and numerous policies are applied when the devices are enrolled. We have tested the issue in both scenarios—when the Macs are connected to the domain and when they are not—and the slow deletion persists in both cases. At this point, we are unsure whether the issue lies on our end or if it is related to the operating system itself. If anyone has found a fix or workaround for this problem, we would appreciate your input.

ABM Sync Fails with “Terms and Conditions Not Signed” Error Despite Acceptance
We are experiencing an issue with Apple Business Manager (ABM) synchronization that is blocking our device management workflow. Issue Description: During the ABM sync process in our MDM, we receive the error: "ABM Terms and Conditions not signed." What We’ve Checked: Logged into the ABM portal as the Administrator and confirmed that the latest Terms and Conditions. Attempted to renew the ABM token on our existing server, but the same error message continues to appear in MDM. Tried creating a brand new ABM server integration, which also fails with the same error. We checked with our MDM provider and they shared the logs, response received from ABM. It says T_C_NOT_SIGNED. But we have already accepted all the new Terms in ABM. We would appreciate any help in resolving this issue or guidance on what steps to take next.

MDM Server and automatic deployment
Hello all, We have built our own MDM solution as we plan to support quite a few devices running iOS. Manual activation is running fine and devices are checking in. We have setup ABM with Device management service setup and linked to our MDM. We have added reseller via Apple customer number and purchased devices are showing in ABM. We have setup default management service assignment as well. When we are setting up a device it gives an error: Remote Management The configuration for your iPhone could not be downloaded from . cancelled Error in the device log is as follows: Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(DMCUtilities)[626] : <DMCHTTPRequestor: 0x84cfd7d40> cannot accept the authentication method NSURLAuthenticationMethodClientCertificate Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Task <663D2346-4B73-4DB2-A134-B1A7DC58E70B>.<1> auth completion disp=2 cred=0x0 Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Task <663D2346-4B73-4DB2-A134-B1A7DC58E70B>.<1> summary for task failure {transaction_duration_ms=285, response_status=-1, connection=7, reused=1, reused_after_ms=0, request_start_ms=0, request_duration_ms=0, response_start_ms=0, response_duration_ms=0, request_bytes=0, request_throughput_kbps=0, response_bytes=0, response_throughput_kbps=0, cache_hit=false} Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: TLS Client Certificates encountered error 1:89 Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Task <663D2346-4B73-4DB2-A134-B1A7DC58E70B>.<1> finished with error [-999] Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-999 UserInfo={NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=, NSErrorFailingURLKey=, _NSURLErrorRelatedURLSessionTaskErrorKey=, _NSURLErrorFailingURLSessionTaskErrorKey=, NSLocalizedDescription=} Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: encountered error(1:89) Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: cleaning up Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: summary for unused connection {protocol="http/1.1", domain_lookup_duration_ms=0, connect_duration_ms=0, secure_connection_duration_ms=0, private_relay=false, idle_duration_ms=0} Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(DMCUtilities)[626] : <DMCHTTPRequestor: 0x84cfd7d40> failed to communicate with the MDM server. Device enrollment to ABM failing with timeout during setup
Hello, I’m facing an issue while trying to add iOS devices to Apple Business Manager (ABM) using Apple Configurator during enrollment. When going through the setup process, the device fails to complete enrollment and times out. I’ve tried it multiple times. The device does appear in ABM during the process and I am able to assign it to different MDM servers but since the setup times out and fails, the device is automatically released. I have tried this with multiple iOS devices and it times out on every single one of them. Steps attempted: Factory reset and re-enrollment of the device Ensured network connectivity is stable and tested on multiple Wi-Fi networks Tried the following process using Apple Configurator on Mac (wired): Created a Wi-Fi profile in Configurator Connected the iPhone via cable and used Prepare (manual configuration) Used the “MDM server” placeholder and trusted anchors (as recommended) Linked the device to the ABM organization Skipped Setup Assistant steps Attached the Wi-Fi profile, then prepared and wiped the device Verified that the device should appear in ABM Attempted to assign the device to my MDM in ABM Despite these checks, the enrollment process times out. I’m attaching a screenshot of the error for reference. Could someone advise what might be causing this timeout or how I can further troubleshoot this? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How to test ManagedAppConfigurationProvider without MDM
How to test ManagedAppConfigurationProvider without MDM ? Task { /* Configuration provider task */ for await configuration in configurationProvider.configurations(MyAppConfiguration.self) { self.configuration = configuration ?? MyAppConfiguration.defaultConfiguration } } Can the existence of a configuration be simulated, e.g. by storing a mocked configuration in UserDefaults? The UserDefaults key "com.apple.configuration.managed" seems not relevant here.

VPP: error 9609 when disassociate assets from user
VPP API v2 returns 9609 "Unable to find the registered user." when I disassociate assets from an existing user. Repro step: 1. Create user POST https://vpp.itunes.apple.com/mdm/v2/users/create { "users": [ { "clientUserId": "client-1", "managedAppleId": "valid managed apple id" } ] } => user is associated 2. Retire user POST https://vpp.itunes.apple.com/mdm/v2/users/retire { "users": [ { "clientUserId": "client-1" } ] } => user is retired 3. Recreate user with the same clientUserId POST https://vpp.itunes.apple.com/mdm/v2/users/create { "users": [ { "clientUserId": "client-1", "managedAppleId": "valid managed apple id" } ] } => user is associated 4. Associate asset POST https://vpp.itunes.apple.com/mdm/v2/assets/associate { "assets": [ { "adamId": "408709785" } ], "clientUserIds": [ "client-1" ] } => asset associated 5. Disassociate asset POST https://vpp.itunes.apple.com/mdm/v2/assets/disassociate { "assets": [ { "adamId": "408709785" } ], "clientUserIds": [ "client-1" ] } => {"errorNumber":9609,"errorMessage":"Unable to find the registered user."} Notes associate API works fine with the same payload. disassociate work with v1 API.

iOS supervised mode without resetting data
I came across this tool that enables supervised mode on iOS without resetting the data. it's essentially a macOS with a unix executable file underneath. a quick guide of how it works is here https://www.techlockdown.com/guides/enable-supervised-mode-iphone I would appreciate any guidance on how to recreate this, as this is behind a paywall, and would like to offer something similar for free to people who want to restrict their families devices.

MDM Profile Installation Issue on iPhone 17 - Suspected Parameter Transmission Error
Issue Description: We are experiencing MDM profile installation failures specifically on iPhone 17 devices. After extensive testing and comparison between affected and working devices, we suspect this appears to be a parameter transmission error rather than device settings. Technical Analysis: Device Settings Comparison: No differences found between problematic and working devices in system settings, indicating this is not a configuration issue. Suspected Parameter Transmission Error: • Device model information appears to be restricted or blocked during profile download • User ID and phone number parameters are not being transmitted to the server • Installation logs show missing login ID and phone number entries Symptoms: • During MDM profile installation, the "Apps & Restrictions" section that should appear is missing • Profile download parameters are suspected to not be properly transmitted to the server • Installation process fails at the profile configuration stage Critical Finding: When we cloned a previously working device to create a problematic device configuration, the cloned device also began experiencing the same installation failures. This strongly suggests the issue is related to device-specific parameters or identifiers. Additional Information: We continue to receive reports of this issue from our iPhone 17 users, and these reports are occurring across various iOS versions. Request for Assistance: Has anyone encountered similar MDM profile installation issues on iPhone 17? Are there known limitations or changes in how device parameters are transmitted during MDM enrollment on this model? Any guidance on debugging parameter transmission or known workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Will a device automatically unenroll if the identity certificate expires?
I am trying to find clarification on something. We are seeing strange cases where customer devices seem to unenroll themselves after a period of MDM inactivity. This seems to tie into roughly when their identity certificate has expired. We can't confirm this because the device has since unenrolled. Is there any case where an Apple device will automatically unenroll if it's identity certificate has expired? This doesn't always seem to happen - I had a device respond immediately after being switched off for a year - but could this be down to some devices being DEP enrolled and others manually enrolled?

Problem Agreements
Hi everyone, I’m sharing this because I’ve been stuck with this issue for over two weeks, and I still haven’t found a solution — or received a meaningful response from Apple Support. A yellow banner has appeared on my account saying: “The Apple Developer Program License Agreement has been updated and needs to be reviewed.” But here’s the problem: I’ve already accepted the latest agreement long ago. When I log into both: App Store Connect Developer Portal …there’s no new agreement to accept, no prompt, no button — absolutely nothing new. The yellow banner simply refuses to go away, and it's preventing updates. I’ve already: Cleared cache & cookies Tried Safari, Chrome, Firefox Logged in from different devices/networks Verified that I am the Account Holder Reported the issue via Apple Developer Support (more than a week ago) Despite clearly stating the urgency of the matter, I’ve received no fix and no timeline. This is beginning to feel like developers’ time — especially for those who depend on timely releases — isn’t being taken seriously. So I’m writing here to ask: 🔹 Has anyone else encountered this same issue recently? 🔹 Is there any known workaround or fix? I’d appreciate any help or shared experience. Thank you.

GetToken for service type com.apple.maid is not working
I have created a jwt token with headers { 'typ': 'JWT', 'alg': 'RS256' } and claim as : { 'iss': dep server UUID from Accounts call, 'iat': epoc time in seconds, 'jti': random uuid, 'service_type': 'com.apple.maid' } And signed the token with private key created during DEP MDM server creation. On the device I see Verification error when tried to login with Managed Apple account. In ABM, Access management setting was set to Managed Devices /Supervised only. Any help would be appreciated.

Question: Granular App Update Status Reporting (Similar to Software Updates)
I'm currently testing app updates using the App:Managed declarative device management payload, and I have a question regarding app update status reporting. Presently, by subscribing to the app.managed.list status item, we can retrieve a list of managed applications along with their installation status. Additionally, we enable automatic updates for managed App Store apps using the UpdateBehavior.AutomaticAppUpdates key. However, especially when a critical application update is initiated, we frequently find ourselves needing more detailed information about the update process. For instance, having status items similar to softwareupdate.install-state and softwareupdate.failure-reason would be incredibly helpful for user troubleshooting. My question is: Is there a way to obtain a similar level of detailed, real-time status updates for app updates? Any insights you might have, or existing methods to achieve this, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

User access to Apple store with user affinity MDM profile
Hello We have devices setup with in ABM and managed with Intune. Having only ever setup shared iPad's, we have a new request with managing iPhone's. The customer wants the iPhone's managed, but users enabled to purchase apps for the app store using their own credit card (or Apple ID) These are not BYOD devices and federated sign is not an option at this time. Can this be done with example User affinity profiles? Many thanks

Automated Certificate Management Blocked by -60005 Security Framework Error
Attempts to programmatically update or add numerous system-installed certificates (a common practice for organizations that rotate certificates regularly) are blocked, forcing manual, insecure, and error-prone workarounds. The root cause lies in the stricter security protocols implemented in macOS 15, specifically: System Integrity Protection (SIP) and Transparency, Consent, and Control (TCC) Command we are using : sudo security authorizationdb write com.apple.trust-settings.admin

Request for Update to ABM Device Management Profile Setting – iOS 26.x / iPhone 17 MDM Restore Loop
Dear Apple Developer Team, Following the rollout of iOS 26.x and the introduction of the iPhone 17, we have identified a critical issue affecting Mobile Device Management (MDM) enrolment and restore operations. The issue appears to stem from the Device Management Profile configuration 'do_not_use_profile_from_backup' within Apple Business Manager (ABM), which currently defaults to False. This setting should be modified to True to ensure proper functionality. When the profile remains set to False, organisations leveraging MDM encounter repeated failures during device backup and restore operations. Specifically, restoring a supervised or managed device triggers a persistent MDM registration loop, effectively preventing deployment of iPhone 17 devices in managed environments. We recommend that Apple review and adjust the default Device Management Profile property within ABM to address this issue and restore full MDM compatibility for iOS 26.x and later.
