Imagine a typical use case: an iPad installed as a self-service kiosk at an airport restaurant. We need to update the app periodically without: Displaying any prompts to the user Relying on the user to approve or initiate the update (since the device is unattended) Sending technicians onsite, as many devices are in remote locations MDM providers have stated, “This is how Apple handles it,” without offering a workable solution. The Apple support article below lists Software Update and several other Apple service domains. At the moment we’re unsure whether we should only bypass the Software Update and Beta Software domains, or whether we also need to bypass domains used for certificate validation, device management (Apple Business Manager / Apple School Manager / Apple Business Essentials), network provider updates, Apple Diagnostics, etc. We also need the specific IP ranges used exclusively by Software Update. I'm the IT Admin in my company. We use Microsoft Intune, which is a Mobile Device Management tool, to manage our devices and apps. I created an app protection policy, restricting the data can only be shared between the allowed apps. For example, if our user want to copy the content in Outlook for iOS to WeChat or personal memo, the action will be blocked. However, may be it's too strict, here is the scenario that we need to hadle: A user selected the content in the Outlook for iOS mail, and wanted to use the "translate" function to do translation. Before the app protection policy was deployed, he can do the translation successfully. And now, it's blocked. Therefore, we need to find a way to exempt the app "Translate" so that users can do the translation successfully. We put the value "com.apple.Translate"(this is a package ID listed in the official document of Apple) to the exemption, but it's not working. May I know what is the correct "value" for the iOS native Translate APP? I need to put this value to our app protection policy to exempt Translate app. Thank you so much.

Hello, I write my bachelor-thesis about geolocation data on an iPhone. I write a small app to get the actual coordinates and saved into a sqlite database. so far so far. Now I have a GPS-generator from R&S to simulate gps-data and satellites. I can simulate 6 satellites parallel to my "fake" geolocation. I write the app also on an Android -smartphone, this Android can display the Satellites-ID and the "fake" geolocation..thats fine for my thesis. But my iPhone would not display anything I this setup? During outside the app would be deliver the actual coordinate, but with the signal.genarator I can't get coordinates. I try GPS, Glosnass, Galileo and Beidoo but nothing happens on my iPhone 12mini. The IOS is 18.1 and I use the core Location api. Has anybody some ideas for me and my thesis?

There is a longstanding restriction payload for supervised iOS devices that disables "Erase All Content and Settings." We have been experimenting with supervised watches paired with supervised phones that have that payload applied, and yet "Erase All Content and Settings" remains available on the watch. Is this: – a) An error with our payload? Should we be sending something else? – b) A bug in watchOS supervision? – c) A deliberate design choice? If so, what is the rationale for preventing organizations from maintaining this very basic level of control over devices they may be configuring and dispatching into the field?

Last year I used the iOS Distribution Managed Certificate (Enterprise Program) to sign an App and to distribute it internally. The Cert is still valid until May 2026. But its associated Provisiong Profile (which is not visible in the Apple Portal, but within Xcode when you export your archive) expired last week. Until then it was impossible for me to somehow force renew the profile and that lead to the fact that my app was not usable for a day, because the renewal was done after the expiration of the old one. Whats the whole point of the managed signing if can't influence the provisioning update. To be clear: I don't speak about the certificate - just about the profile. Or am I using it wrong?

I am trying to find clarification on something. We are seeing strange cases where customer devices seem to unenroll themselves after a period of MDM inactivity. This seems to tie into roughly when their identity certificate has expired. We can't confirm this because the device has since unenrolled. Is there any case where an Apple device will automatically unenroll if it's identity certificate has expired? This doesn't always seem to happen - I had a device respond immediately after being switched off for a year - but could this be down to some devices being DEP enrolled and others manually enrolled?

A yellow banner has appeared on my account saying: “The Apple Developer Program License Agreement has been updated and needs to be reviewed.” But here’s the problem: I’ve already accepted the latest agreement long ago. When I log into both: App Store Connect Developer Portal …there’s no new agreement to accept, no prompt, no button — absolutely nothing new. The yellow banner simply refuses to go away, and it's preventing updates. I’ve already: Cleared cache & cookies Tried Safari, Chrome, Firefox Logged in from different devices/networks Verified that I am the Account Holder Reported the issue via Apple Developer Support (more than a week ago) Despite clearly stating the urgency of the matter, I’ve received no fix and no timeline. This is beginning to feel like developers’ time — especially for those who depend on timely releases — isn’t being taken seriously. Hello We have devices setup with in ABM and managed with Intune. Having only ever setup shared iPad's, we have a new request with managing iPhone's. The customer wants the iPhone's managed, but users enabled to purchase apps for the app store using their own credit card (or Apple ID) These are not BYOD devices and federated sign is not an option at this time. Can this be done with example User affinity profiles? Many thanks
