caches directory counts towards app storage?
throughout all of Foundation's URL documentation, its called out in multiple places that data stored inside an app sandox's caches directory doesn't count towards data and documents usage in the settings app but in practice, it looks like storing data there does in fact count towards documents & data for the app i'm trying to understand if the docs are wrong, if theres a bug in the settings app, or if this is a mistake on my part

AVAudioEngine Hangs/Locks Apps After Call to -connect:to:format:
Periodically when testing I am running into a situation where the app hangs and beach balls forever when using AVAudioEngine. This seems to log out when this affect happens: Now when this happens if I pause the debugger it's hanging at a call to: [engine connect:playerNode to:engine.mainMixerNode format:buffer.format]; #0 0x000000019391ca9c in __psynch_mutexwait () #1 0x0000000104d49100 in _pthread_mutex_firstfit_lock_wait () #2 0x0000000104d49014 in _pthread_mutex_firstfit_lock_slow () #3 0x00000001938928ec in std::__1::recursive_mutex::lock () #4 0x00000001ef80e988 in CADeprecated::RealtimeMessenger::_PerformPendingMessages () #5 0x00000001ef818868 in AVAudioNodeTap::Uninitialize () #6 0x00000001ef7fdc68 in AUGraphNodeBase::Uninitialize () #7 0x00000001ef884f38 in AVAudioEngineGraph::PerformCommand () #8 0x00000001ef88e780 in AVAudioEngineGraph::_Connect () #9 0x00000001ef8b7e70 in AVAudioEngineImpl::Connect () #10 0x00000001ef8bc05c in -[AVAudioEngine connect:to:format:] () Current all my audio engine related calls are on the main queue (though I am curious about this https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/123540?answerId=816827022#816827022). In any case, anyone know where I'm going wrong here?

iOS 18.2: Blocked Calls Still Appearing as "Unanswered" Instead of "Blocked"
Following up on a previous thread that was marked as resolved, we're observing that the behavior of blocked calls in iOS 18.2 hasn't changed as indicated. Current behavior in iOS 18.2: Calls blocked by Call Directory extensions still appear as "unanswered" in the Phone app's call history The calls are successfully blocked (don't ring) though There's no indication in the call history that these calls were blocked Expected behavior (as previously indicated would be fixed in iOS 18.2 beta 3): Blocked calls should be labeled as "Blocked" Should show which app blocked them This continues to cause confusion among users who expect blocked calls to either be clearly labeled or not appear in their history at all. We're still receiving regular user complaints about this behavior. Has there been any change in the timeline for addressing this? Any information would be helpful for both developers and users. Thank you in advance.

Official document for CONSUMPTION_REQUEST - What kind of data we are receiving?
This documentation describes what kind of data we should be sending to Apple server, once we are receiving CONSUMPTION_REQUEST https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreserverapi/consumptionrequest But, it doesn't describe what kind of data we are receiving, when we are receiving CONSUMPTION_REQUEST? May I know, is such a document available? Thank you.

How can I be notified when my app is in foreground and server start an live activity by push notification
My app will be woken when Activity.pushToStartTokenUpdates delivered the new token. But I want to know how can I get the activity.pushTokenUpdates when my server start an live activity via push notification, because without the activity.pushTokenUpdates, my server can't deliver update information after start the live activity. For now, I check the activities when my app switch foreground/background. But how can I be notified when my app is in foreground and server start an live activity by push notification. I've tried "content-available": 1 in LA's payload aps, but I also can't be notified in the didReceiveRemoteNotification in appDelegate.

Apple Intelligence on Workspace ONE
Hello! It's my first time posting in this forum. Apple Intelligence is enabled by default in Workspace ONE (WS1). I was wondering if Apple Intelligence can access or process corporate data within (WS1) corporate apps, which are containerized? Thank you!

Identifying Essential Apple Bundle ID for Apple Watch-iPhone Connectivity in MDM Environment
I am experiencing difficulties in fully integrating my Apple Watch with a supervised iPhone under MDM control. While I have successfully paired the watch with the iPhone, I am facing issues with some apps not syncing or appearing on the Apple Watch. This issue persists despite having allowed their bundle IDs in the MDM’s whitelist. Could anyone provide guidance on which specific Apple bundle ID is crucial for maintaining the connectivity and functionality between the iPhone and the Apple Watch? Understanding this would help in ensuring that the necessary bundle ID is whitelisted in the MDM settings, thus resolving the app visibility and functionality issues on the Apple Watch.

HealthKit SDK Not Responding When Querying Step Data on iPhone 16 Pro Max
We have working code to fetch step data from HealthKit after requesting the necessary permissions. However, we’ve encountered an issue specific to one device, the iPhone 16 Pro Max. When querying the data, we do not receive a response, and the code enters an infinite loading state without completing the request. The user who is facing this issue has tried logging in on another device, and it works fine. On the problematic device (iPhone 16 Pro Max), the request does not complete. For reference, I’ve included the code below. Resolving this issue is crucial, so we would appreciate any guidance on what steps we can take to troubleshoot or resolve the problem on this specific device. Please note that the device has granted permission to access HealthKit data. static let healthStore = HKHealthStore() static func limitReadFromHealthKitBetweenDates(fromDate: Date, toDate: Date = Date(), completion: @escaping ([HKStatistics]) -> Void) { guard let stepsQuantityType = HKQuantityType.quantityType(forIdentifier: .stepCount) else { return } let ignoreUserEntered = HKQuery.predicateForObjects(withMetadataKey: HKMetadataKeyWasUserEntered, operatorType: .notEqualTo, value: true) let now = toDate var interval = DateComponents() interval.day = 1 var calendar = Calendar.current calendar.locale = Locale(identifier: "en_US_POSIX") var anchorComponents = calendar.dateComponents([.day, .month, .year], from: now) anchorComponents.hour = 0 let anchorDate = calendar.date(from: anchorComponents) ?? Date() let query = HKStatisticsCollectionQuery(quantityType: stepsQuantityType, quantitySamplePredicate: ignoreUserEntered, options: [.cumulativeSum], anchorDate: anchorDate, intervalComponents: interval) query.initialResultsHandler = { _, results, error in guard let results = results else { print("Error returned from resultHandler: \(String(describing: error?.localizedDescription))") return } print(results) var statisticsArray: [HKStatistics] = [] results.enumerateStatistics(from: fromDate, to: now) { statistics, _ in statisticsArray.append(statistics) if statistics.endDate.getddmmyyyyslashGMT == now.getddmmyyyyslashGMT { completion(statisticsArray) } } } healthStore.execute(query) } Please note that the code works on all devices except the problematic one. Could you please guide me on the next steps to resolve this issue?

Deep Link not working - what am I missing?
We’re trying to enable deep links for our application com.remonon.remonon. Only links that start with https://remonon.com/app/ should redirect to our app. I’ve closely followed the tutorial at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/supporting-associated-domains. Our apple-app-site-association is correctly placed at https://remonon.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association and looks like this: { "applinks": { "details": [ { "appIDs": [ "25N8TLPALL.com.remonon.remonon" ], "components": [ { "/": "/app/*", "comment": "Only URLs under /app/ will be handled as deep links" } ] } ] }, "webcredentials": { "apps": [ "25N8TLPALL.com.remonon.remonon" ] } } Our *.entitlements looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>aps-environment</key> <string>production</string> <key>com.apple.developer.associated-domains</key> <array> <string>applinks:remonon.com</string> <string>webcredentials:remonon.com</string> </array> <key>com.apple.developer.default-data-protection</key> <string>NSFileProtectionComplete</string> <key>com.apple.security.application-groups</key> <array> <string>group.com.remonon.remonon</string> </array> </dict> </plist> Our apple-app-site-association was published two weeks ago to make sure apple’s caches were able to catch up in the meantime. Still, opening the link https://remonon.com/app/test on a real device with our app installed does not open our app but safari. A while ago, when all remonon.com-urls should open our app instead of only those which have the "app" path prefix, the deep links was working perfectly fine. What am I missing?

MapKit super slow loading tiles stored on device
Loading tile overlays is slow even when the raster data is locally available on the device running iOS 18.2 and built with Xcode 16.2. In this video (https://3dtopo.com/superSlowTileLoading.mov) it takes 38 seconds to load tiles readily available on the device. Then, the whole screen flashes when tiles that are already drawn are redrawn, making for a very poor user experience. 38 seconds to load a dozen or so small images (512x512) stored locally on the device is simply unacceptable. I can't release a product like this that I've spent the last 1.5 years building and many years developing the maps themselves. This severe issue is new since I committed to basing my app on MapKit. Note that this issue does not occur with Apple's base map tiles. I created a Feedback Assitant case, FB16110803, for this issue. For the video, I disabled loading any tiles from the network and disabled loading any other data, such as polylines. Essentially all I am doing is loading the tiles stored on the device and returning them, such as: public func loadTile(at path: MKTileOverlayPath, result: @escaping (Data?, Error?) -> Void) { fetchData(forKey: key, failure: {error in result(nil, error)}, success: {data in result(data, nil)}) } open func fetchData(forKey key: String, failure fail: ((Error?) -> ())? = nil, success succeed: @escaping (Data) -> ()) { let path = self.path(forKey: key) do { let data = try Data( contentsOf: URL(fileURLWithPath: path), options: Data.ReadingOptions()) succeed(data) self.updateDiskAccessDate(atPath: path) } catch { if let block = fail { block(error) } } }

WidgetCenter.shared.reloadAllTimelines() doesnt work when app in background
I have an iOS app, watchOS app, and iOS Widget that shows the most recent data in the database. The watch app sends data to the iOS app over the WCSession and is received in session(didReceiveMessage, replyHandler). After that data is processed, reloadAllTimelines() is called. When running in Simulator or on device plugged in to debugger, it works, the widget updates when the app is closed (in background, even if force quit). But when running TestFlight or App Store build, the data is still processed and saved to Core Data (I open the app and it's there), but the widget doesn't update. It seems that reloadAllTimelines only works when the app is in foreground (at least in non debug builds). I dont have an iOS 17 device to check but I think this is a recent bug with iOS 18.

Changing MKMapView .preferredConfiguration or .mapType causes crash
If I change MKMapView's .preferredConfiguration property from .realistic to .flat, or .mapType from .hybridFlyover to .hybrid, subsequent scrolling causes a crash: -[MTLDebugRenderCommandEncoder validateDrawIndexedPrimitives:indexCount:indexType:indexBuffer:indexBufferOffset:instanceCount:function:]:6179: failed assertion `Draw Indexed Primitives Validation indexBufferOffset(0) + (indexCount(864) * 2) must be <= [indexBuffer length] (12). For example, changing: mapView.preferredConfiguration = MKHybridMapConfiguration(elevationStyle: .realistic) to: mapView.preferredConfiguration = MKHybridMapConfiguration(elevationStyle: .flat) Then, scroll the map view, and it will crash. It is OK the other way around. Or change: self.mapView.mapType = .hybridFlyover to: self.mapView.mapType = .hybrid I've tried everything I can think of, including calling functions like these after the change: mapView.setNeedsDisplay() mapView.setRegion(self.mapView.region, animated: false) .mapType and .preferredConfiguration are settable properties, so they should be possible to change. I could create a new MKMapview, but I'd have to perfectly recreate the state which is not trivial and far from ideal. I'm just trying to work around the issue FB14553276 so my map tiles don't show tiling seems in 2D which is a new issue introduced with iOS 18. This potential workaround still shows the seems in 3D, but is better than always showing seems. Seems like whatever I do, I just can't defeat MapKit bugs and puts me in an impossible situation. :( I've submitted Feedback this issue: FB16153802 It seems like others are experiencing the issue: https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/730780
