I noticed a very weird behavior for refunds. When a user refunds an up-front paid app, they still have access to the app. How can I detect such a case and block access to the app?
In general, I think it should be handled by Apple, but for some reason, they don't do it.

I have implemented in-app-purchase in one of my iOS application.
I generated the consumable products and these are approved by Apple Showing with Green check.
I used StoreKit-2 and locally testing with store sync configuration file.
The products I have created on developer accounts automatically synced by Store Configuration file and showing no the screen and I can purchase the product with Xcode environment in development.
When uploaded app to test flight, I am not getting products with sandbox email id.
Cases I have tries:
-Remove my original Apple ID from device and just testing with Apple Sandbox email id -> Not getting products.
-Remove configuration file while uploading to test flight -> not fetching products.
-Checked the archive build and its in Release mode.
Note: I am as a (Admin) team member, not account holder.
Issue:
Not fetching products on Test flight with Sandbox & in live app.
Is there something I have to track here:
Agreements for Free Apps Agreement with EFFECTIVE DATE showing 3 Jul 2025 - 20 Sep 2025 & STATUS is Active
Agreements for Paid Apps Agreement with EFFECTIVE DATE showing nothing & STATUS is New
We're experiencing an issue with in-app purchases in our React Native iOS app where RNIap.getProducts() is consistently returning an empty array, preventing users from making purchases.
Technical Details:
Using react-native-iap library
Product ID: '[REDACTED]'
Platform: iOS
Product Type: Consumable (one-time payment, NOT subscription)
Error in logs: "No products returned from App Store. Check App Store Connect."
Debugging shows: Products Fetched: []
Steps to Reproduce:
Open app and navigate to the quiz feature
Attempt to purchase additional quiz attempts
Modal opens but fails to load product information
What We've Confirmed:
IAP Connection initializes successfully
No error is thrown during product fetch, just an empty array returned
App is configured with correct Bundle ID
Using Apple Sandbox test account
We are implementing consumable purchases (one-time payments)
Potential Issues to Investigate:
Product configuration in App Store Connect
Ensure product is set as "Consumable" type in App Store Connect
Sandbox tester account permissions/activation
Bundle ID matching between app and App Store Connect
Product ID case sensitivity or typos
I am trying use SKOverlay to promote an app, and I currently have the campaignToken field populated. However, even when installs happen from the SKOverlay, nothing shows up under that campaign token in App Store Connect. Is there something that I'm missing? I don't have the providerToken set.

Inquire the types of notifications that can occur in a SANDBOX environment
Hello, WWDC 2024 is trying to conduct a test to receive notifications related to ONE_TIME_CHARGE, CONNSUMPTION_REQUEST, CONMSUMPTION_INFO, REFUND, and REFUND_DECLINED as described in the example of purchasing consumables, but as a result of the continuous search, I found that it is difficult to occur except for
ONE_TIME_CHARGE.
So, in order to verify only the business logic as shown below, we are testing only the business logic without actually calling the API after purchasing the test and saving the signaled Payload that we received in response to ONE_TIME_CHARGE. Can we actually request a refund for the test purchase and receive the corresponding notification and actually send the response?
public void handleSignedNotification(String signedNotification) throws Exception {
ResponseBodyV2DecodedPayload payload = signedDataVerifier.verifyAndDecodeNotification(signedNotification);
NotificationTypeV2 type = payload.getNotificationType();
//For Apple Server Notification, only ONE_TIME_CHARGE notifications are enabled in the test environment, so for testing, change them as below to test whether they are running business logic
type = NotificationTypeV2.REFUND;
log.info("Apple NotificationType : {}", type);
switch (type) {
case CONSUMPTION_REQUEST:
handleConsumptionRequest(payload);
break;
case REFUND:
handleRefund(payload);
break;
case REFUND_DECLINED:
handleRefundDeclined(payload);
break;
// For other necessary notifications, just take a log
default:
log.info("Unhandled notification: {}", type);
}
}
Regarding the call of 'CONSUMPTION_INFO', which is the response of 'CONSUMPTION_REQUEST'
Is there a value that WWDC 2024 must include when sending CONMSUMPTION_INFO, which is the response to CONNSUMPTION_REQUEST described in the refund example? I'm going to call the API with only sample provision and consumption like the sample code you introduced in the video.
I was told to submit my refund preference within 12 hours, but can I submit it as UNDECLARED at first and use the method to express my intention? When I receive the notification, I will save it in the DB and save it in the administrator page of the service so that the administrator can choose.
2-1. Some of the materials I looked for are told that Apple can proceed with the refund even 12 hours ago, and to express your opinion as soon as I receive the notification, but I wonder if this is correct.
If you get a notification as below, you should write whether you used it or not by referring to the consumption information. I think the customer said to check whether the data was provided when applying for a refund. Should I take it out of decodedTransaction, check the value, and just call it NO_PREFERENCE? I'd appreciate it if you could give me some advice.
Below is a part of the code I implemented.
private void handleConsumptionRequest(ResponseBodyV2DecodedPayload notification) throws Exception {
// 1. transaction ID get
String signedTransactionInfo = notification.getData().getSignedTransactionInfo();
JWSTransactionDecodedPayload decodedTransaction = signedDataVerifier.verifyAndDecodeTransaction(signedTransactionInfo);
String transactionId = decodedTransaction.getTransactionId();
// 2. Extract the relevant transaction (The following example is an in-app payment and will be accumulated in two types of DBs, stored in one of the two)
Sample sample = sampleService.findByAppleTransactionId(transactionId);
Example example = exampleService.findByAppleTransactionId(transactionId);
Boolean canRefund = false;
// 3. Check consumption information
if (sample != null) {
canRefund = checkSampleStatusForApplePurchaseRefund(sample);
} else if (example != null) {
canRefund = checkExampleStatusForApplePurchaseRefund(example);
}
// 4. Create Refund Preferences
RefundPreference refundPreference = determineRefundPreference(canRefund);
// 5. Creating a ConsumptionRequest Object
ConsumptionRequest request = new ConsumptionRequest()
.refundPreference(refundPreference)
.sampleContentProvided(true);
log.info("forTest~ canRefund: {}", canRefund);
log.info("forTest~ sample: {}", sample.toString());
log.info("forTest~ example: {}", example.toString());
log.info("forTest~ refundPreference: {}", refundPreference);
log.info("forTest~ request: {}", request);
// 6. Transfer to App Store (annotated with dummy requests that only confirm current business requests are going right)
// appStoreServerAPIClient.sendConsumptionData(transactionId, request);
}

I am handling the buy subscription with this function
const handleBuySubscription = async (productId) => {
try {
await requestSubscription({
sku: productId,
});
setLoading(false);
} catch (error) {
setLoading(false);
if (error instanceof PurchaseError) {
errorLog({ message: [${error.code}]: ${error.message}, error });
} else {
errorLog({ message: "handleBuySubscription", error });
}
}
};
but the
requestSubscription({
sku: productId,
})
does not return anything, and it is stuck at await
I’m updating an old app which uses StoreKit and hosted in-app purchases (multimedia add-ons).
The original .pkgs are missing and the only known place they exist intact is on Apple’s servers.
The app is able to download and install the IAPs. Is there anyway to save them to the local device?
I'm using the SwiftUI view SubscriptionStoreView (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/subscriptionstoreview/) with a subscription group that has 2 subscriptions. I set up a free trial offer in App Store Connect (https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/manage-subscriptions/set-up-introductory-offers-for-auto-renewable-subscriptions/). The storekit file in Xcode is synced with the App Store.
In debug build, this works and appears correctly, showing the free trial offer:
But in release build, the free trial offer is not shown:
The code is very simple:
SubscriptionStoreView(productIDs: [
"[PRODUCT ID FOR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION]",
"[PRODUCT ID FOR BIMONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION]"
])
Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.

I am trying to launch a PWA as an application on App Store, and got rejected cause of In-App Purchases. Application is about content generation and selling subscriptions for premium content. So thats why needed to implement In-App Purchases.
I have created wrapper via PWABuilder. And it is looking great so far, now my question is about How can I implement In-App Purchases in the bundle which is already created.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
More clarification:-
I have that product running on Web right now, we have integrated Stripe for payment handling for subscriptions. If there is nothing we can do for In-App Purchases then we have to make purchases on website and then user will be able to experience the changes. We tried that, but then we got rejected for showing locked premium content on user's feed. Also can't show any CTA or Subscribe text or button.
Hi,
I am trying to obtain the subscription expiry date or purchase date from server using Storekit2 for my project.
I have an account which is already having an active subscription but it still says no purchase found.
Thanks
We are using consumable in-app purchases. Starting from May 27th, we began receiving refund callbacks with the notificationType set to ONE_TIME_CHARGE immediately after users successfully completed a payment.
{
"notificationType": "ONE_TIME_CHARGE",
"signedPayload": "..."
}
During this period, we did not make any changes to our App release or server-side purchase handling logic.
Could this issue result in actual refunds being processed? What steps should we take to resolve this issue?
We also noticed in your changelog that a new notification type ONE_TIME_CHARGE has been introduced.
Can we safely ignore callbacks with the ONE_TIME_CHARGE notification type without affecting refund processing or user experience?

I'm considering developing an app where users can create their own subscription plans by freely setting their prices, similar to YouTube's membership feature.
I understand that in-app purchases must be used to unlock features within the app. With that in mind, I searched for APIs to enable this functionality but couldn't find relevant information.
When I contacted Apple directly, they mentioned that they couldn't provide specific answers unless the app is under review.
If anyone has knowledge about the following points, I would greatly appreciate your response:
Is it possible to implement a feature similar to YouTube's membership using in-app purchase APIs?
If it's not feasible with in-app purchases, is it allowed to use external payment services like Stripe?
Hello,
I'm encountering an issue when trying to use the subscriptionGroupLookups endpoint in the App Store Connect API.
Despite having the correct setup, I continue to receive a 404 NOT FOUND error when making requests to:
GET https://api.appstoreconnect.apple.com/v1/subscriptionGroupLookups
Here is the current state of my environment:
I am the Account Holder of the App Store Connect account
The App Store Connect API key has been successfully created
I have the correct Key ID, Issuer ID, and .p8 private key
I can authenticate and access the apps and subscriptionGroups endpoints
However, the subscriptionGroupLookups endpoint always returns:
{
"errors": [
{
"status": "404",
"code": "NOT_FOUND",
"title": "The specified resource does not exist"
}
]
}
I suspect that LookUp Keys (UUIDs) have not been assigned to our subscription groups, even though they were created and are active in App Store Connect.
There is no “Request Access” button visible under the Integrations tab (as mentioned in Apple support instructions), and my keys appear under “App Store Connect API” > “Keys” as active.
Questions:
How can I ensure that LookUp Keys are assigned to my subscription groups?
Is there a way to trigger this manually or via support?
Has anyone successfully resolved this?
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
I have been struggling to test the IAP response but it is returning empty. I am now in the very beginning of one app, and I don't want to submit the contacts and banking and tax stuff that early. are these necessary for even testing IAP results locally? I think it does not make sense if I have to.
Hi everyone,
I’m facing a recurring issue with my macOS app being rejected during App Store review, and I’d really appreciate any guidance.
The subscription flow in my app is implemented using StoreKit, and everything works perfectly in our development environment using a StoreKit configuration file. It also behaves as expected in Sandbox testing and TestFlight — I even had few beta testers confirm that the subscription information is displayed correctly and the purchase flow completes without issues.
All required subscription details are configured in App Store Connect:
• Subscription duration and the description of the services offered
• Price and price per unit where applicable
• Paid apps agreement and related forms are correctly filled
However, when the app is submitted for review, the subscription screen fails to display the expected information. From what I can tell, the product information fails to load from the App Store in the review environment — even though everything is working fine on our side.
We’ve already submitted a video to Apple showing the subscription UI working in the Sandbox environment, but the app continues to be rejected under guideline 3.1.2 due to missing subscription info in the binary.
Is anyone else experiencing similar behavior during review? Could there be a caching issue or delay in StoreKit syncing for newly configured products?
Any help or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks in advance!
Hi (from France)
I have a MacOS application which handles the App Store receipt by requesting at the url "https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt". From the response, I can know what are the inApps bought by the user and that suits for me.
I don't know if if I must change something in my code accordingly to this TN3118.
Does someone knows the response ?
Best regards.
I'm trying to understand the IAP development process. I created my first Product on App Store Connect and am trying to build my app to use it. However it keeps failing with "Invalid product ID.". From what I've read, this is because the product has not yet gone through review. But what I don't understand is, of course it hasn't gone through review yet, because trying to use it in any capacity fails, even though I'm using a real physical device and using a Sandbox User. Is this the correct workflow? It seems very backwards that I have to submit the product for review, even before I know how it's going to be used. I'm still building the screen for the product page, and haven't even started touching any backend APIs, yet it's asking for screenshots. Am I misunderstanding something here?
I am finding that the verifyReceipt endpoint used to verify a receipt is failing on occassion starting around October 27, 2015. I realize this API is deprecated. I am using cURL to call verifyReceipt. The specific errors are 52 - Empty reply from server and 56 - Connection closed abruptly. This indicates an issue with Apple's server as I understand it.
Is anyone else experiencing this as well?
