Hi, We are working to integrate the Live Caller ID Lookup feature into our app. After submitting the request form via the link: https://developer.apple.com/contact/request/live-caller-id-lookup/, we received this reply from Apple: Apple’s OHTTP relay has been configured to talk to your OHTTP gateway. Now Live Caller ID Lookup should work for your application extension when distributed through App Store. However, before officially releasing our app on the App Store, we’d like to make sure the Live Caller ID Lookup feature is working as expected. To test this, we uploaded the app to TestFlight, and it successfully passed App Review. However, the test failed — we observed that the system tries to fetch the config from http://www.example.com/config instead of our actual configuration URL. Questions: Is this expected behavior when using TestFlight? Does the Live Caller ID Lookup feature only become active after full public release on the App Store? Is there any recommended way to test this feature before public release? Thank you!

I've discovered a bug in the Phone app on iOS related to how long verdicts are displayed. When a call is identified by a third-party Caller ID app, long verdicts display correctly during the call (they auto-scroll) and in the call log (with an ellipsis at the end). However, on the call details screen, the text is strangely truncated - showing only the beginning of the string and the last word. For testing, I used this verdict: "Musclemen grow on trees. They can tense their muscles and look good in a mirror. So what? I'm interested in practical strength that's going to help me run, jump, twist, punch." Hi, I would like to reset system window private picker alert with ScreenCapture kit. i can reset the ScreenCapture permission with tccutil reset ScreenCapture. but it does not reset the system window private picker alert. i tried deleting the application directory from container and it does not help. the system window private picker alert uses the old approval i gave and it does not prompt a new alert. How can i starta with fresh screencapture kit settings for an app in testing? Thanks

I'd like to write a MacOS App that makes use of the ASAM functonality as described here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/autonomoussingleappmode I have tried to use the example with Safari, and have enrolled a Mac with MDM and installed the profile. But when opening Safari it does not appear in Single App Mode. I've only tried it with Safari so far but eventually I want to be able to use my own App. Is there an API that has to be used to enter single app mode programmatically? I've found the whole Assessment API but as I do not have the required entitlements to use that API I'm looking for another solution. The documentation on ASAM does not mention the Assessment API at all, is it the only way to enter "a" single app mode on MacOS? How is the Assessment API linked to ASAM? As far as I have understood there's the com.apple.developer.automatic-assessment-configuration entitlement but apps having this do not need to be configured via MDM? I'm really confused as to what's actually required to be able to get into single app mode on MacOS. The app I'm trying to write isn't really related to an an assessment task, but I am doing this for an academic institution so maybe requesting the entitlement would be feasable. The documentation on ASAM also mentions that the App is granted access to the "Accessibility" API and I've found the whole UIAccessibility/requestGuidedAccessSession but this does not seem to be available on MacOS proper? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm using ScreenCaptureKit on macOS 14+ to record a single window. I've noticed that the Presenter Overlay only appears when capturing the entire screen, but it does not appear when recording a specific window or a region. Is there a way to enable the Presenter Overlay while recording a single window or a defined region, similar to how it works with full-screen capture? Widgets on the widget is not responding to the touch properly. This issue is also affecting within the home screen widget in a way that the widget switches to light mode by itself even though I am in dark mode. Additionally, lock screen does not to respond once the lock screen widget has been edited. Is anyone else having this issue?

If I have, say a doctor appointment in the Calendar app, and I'm leaving to go to it, the address will appear in Apple Maps on CarPlay. Forgive if I'm getting the details wrong, but I believe if I bring up the Map, it will be available to tap on, so I can quickly go there. I think it may also show up on one on the car-play screens that shows a few different panels. The point is, I really like this feature, and want to do it in my app. In my iOS app, the user can order food from a restaurant, and pick it up. I'm not ready to make this app a "quick service" app, but I want to give the user an easy to get to her location. Since I just ordered food, this means that I'll need to leave fairly quickly to go to the location. The Calendar app is able to offer a location because of scheduling, I'd like to do the same.

My use case is a Repeat Timer app. The user can configure a repeating timer, say: 8 minutes with 3 sets So I would like to configure either 3 alarms (8mins, 16mins, 24mins) or a repeating alarm (8mins every 3 mins) BUT... I would like the first and second alarms to break through but only for 5 seconds for example, and then stop (so the user doesn't need to tap the screen to silence the alarm). I don't think this is possible after reading the API docs, but am asking the question anyway. Thanks for any advice or guidance here, and happy WWDC!

In the past I was always able to install every major macOS version on an external drive so that I can test my apps. But now I'm unable to install macOS Tahoe 26 on an external drive. Actually, as far as I'm aware, there are not even official links to macOS 26 installers, but only instructions on how to update to macOS 26 from an existing macOS installation. So I thought I'd install macOS 15 on a separate drive and then update to macOS 26, but whenever I run the macOS 15 installer, tell it to install on the external drive, and reboot after the setup process completes, my MacBook just boots into my main macOS partition as if nothing happened. 3 months ago I somehow managed to install macOS Tahoe beta 1 on an external drive, I don't remember how (but I don't think it was anything crazy); booting into that beta 1 partition and trying to update doesn't work either, as my MacBook again boots into my main macOS partition. I already asked help about the update problem one month ago here, but nobody replied. Could someone at Apple please provide instructions on how one is supposed to install macOS 26 on an external drive (if possible before it becomes available to the public)? Are we supposed to buy a separate Mac for every macOS version that we want to test our apps on?

What I’m seeing FinanceKit gives me great core fields (amount, currency, status, dates, MCC, merchantName, transactionDescription), but I’m not seeing any address or place/location metadata on a Transaction. Questions Is there any way in FinanceKit today to access merchant location or a resolvable identifier (e.g., address, city/state, store number, Apple Maps place identifier, network merchant ID/MID, terminal ID, etc.)? If not, can FinanceKit expose additional merchant metadata (even opt-in / privacy-preserving) to enable Wallet-like enrichment? A few examples that would unblock this: merchantAddress (or components: street/city/region/postalCode/country) merchantPhone (often unique per store) merchantIdentifier (stable per physical location, e.g., network merchant ID / store number) mapsPlaceURL or mapsPlaceIdentifier (linkage to the Apple Maps Place Card) brandAssetURL (logo/brand reference similar to what Wallet shows) With even one of the above, I could reliably: Render an accurate map snapshot, Fetch the correct brand assets, and Avoid prompting the user or inferring via fuzzy search. Context / constraints I do not want to (and shouldn’t need to) request or monitor the user’s device location to resolve a merchant’s store location. For small merchants, MapKit text search is often enough. For large chains, I need a store-level identifier. If there’s an existing field or recommended approach I’m missing, I’d love pointers. If not, please consider this a feature request for richer merchant metadata in FinanceKit so developers can build Wallet-quality transaction details. Thanks!

I’m testing FinanceKit with Apple Cash and noticed that transfers don’t include any counterparty information. Here’s an example transaction I fetched: Transaction( id: 5A96EA49-B7C9-4481-949D-88247210C1D7, accountID: 28D7C0E2-DC2A-4138-B105-BCE5EE00B705, transactionAmount: 30 USD, creditDebitIndicator: .credit, transactionDescription: "Transfer", originalTransactionDescription: "", merchantCategoryCode: nil, merchantName: nil, transactionType: .transfer, status: .booked, transactionDate: 2025-08-19 21:57:54 +0000, postedDate: 2025-08-19 21:57:55 +0000 ) As you can see: transactionDescription is just "Transfer" originalTransactionDescription is empty merchantName is nil No counterparty details are exposed In contrast, the Wallet app clearly shows the other person’s name and avatar for Apple Cash transfers, making it easy to understand who the payment was with. In FinanceKit, there’s no way to distinguish between transfers with different people — every transfer looks identical. Questions Is there a hidden or planned field for Apple Cash counterparty information? Can FinanceKit provide at least minimal metadata (e.g., contact name, initials, or a privacy-preserving identifier)? Is there any workaround today to correlate Apple Cash transfers with contacts? Feature request: Please expose counterparty information for Apple Cash transfers. Even something as simple as a stable identifier or name string would enable developers to build Wallet-quality transaction detail screens. Thanks!

I'm currently experimenting with AlarmKit and, when configuring an alarm with a Relative schedule, but that never repeats, I find that it is still scheduled in the AlarmManager, but the documentation says that an alarm that has no repeat schedule will be removed from the AlarmManager after firing. This behavior is experienced both in my project and with the sample code AlarmKit-ScheduleAndAlert To reproduce, create a non-repeating alarm, and, after firing, it will still be on the list marked as Scheduled Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

When fetching Apple Savings transactions via FinanceKit, the data is missing key context about where the deposit originated from. Every deposit simply appears as "Deposit", which is ambiguous. Request: Please expose additional metadata for Apple Savings account transactions, for example: sourceAccountName (e.g. “Apple Card” or “Bank of America”) transactionOriginType (cashback, external bank transfer, interest) institutionIdentifier or similar for external banks This would allow developers to show clear, Wallet-quality transaction details and avoid confusing users. Impact: The lack of source info makes Savings deposits nearly indistinguishable from one another, even though Wallet provides this context. For apps leveraging FinanceKit, this results in a poorer experience compared to Apple’s own Wallet. Thanks!

Currently, we use CalDAV with Apple ID authentication and an app-specific password (ASP), storing the ASP encrypted in our database and decrypting it for each API call. We’re looking for a more secure and recommended approach to this integration. Does Apple provide dedicated APIs for calendar sync, or is there a better alternative to avoid sending the ASP with every request? Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated! I'm using the new AlarmKit framework to build a Swift app that lets users schedule multiple repeating alarms. The goal is to allow users to stop all alarms for today if they wake up early, but the alarms should still ring on their scheduled days in the future (for example, every Monday). What I tried: When the user chooses to stop alarms for today, I delete all alarms and re-add them. However, this doesn't work as expected. If today is Monday and I delete and re-add the alarm with .weekday = .monday, it still rings today. That means re-adding the alarm doesn't skip today's instance, even though it's repeating. What I want to achieve: Skip or suppress today's alarms when the user stops them manually Keep the same alarms active for their scheduled days in the future Questions: Is there a way in AlarmKit to prevent a repeating alarm from ringing today if it was just re-added or there are better alternatives to this problem? Is the only workaround to delay re-adding until after today’s alarms would have fired? What is the best approach to achieve this?

Both follow the same pattern: show the image that is being shared along with a CTA button about doing something with it in their app. When you tap the button, their app opens. Is there some kind of magic conditions that tapping the button creates that makes extensionContext.open(_ URL: URL, completionHandler: ((Bool) -> Void)?) accept a URL for opening the app? Or are they just using the "walk the responder chain" hack and using the user's intent to do something in their app as sufficient justification for using it? I've tried opening a registered URL scheme for my app synchronously with the button tap, but it still is refusing to open (callback returns false).
