We've been using the WeatherKit API for a few years now. Everything has been pretty stable. We'll periodically get 404 errors, but they usually disappear within a couple days.
Starting March 5th we've again been getting 404 errors that slowly ramped up to March 20th and continued. We have had no code changes on our end, so something seems to have changed / broken on the server side of things.
Here are some example API calls that are giving us a 404 error now
https://weatherkit.apple.com/api/v1/weather/en/35.9981205/-78.8920444?dataSets=forecastDaily&dailyStart=2025-03-21T05:00:00Z&timezone=America/New_York&countryCode=US

Does anyone have any insights or information on this?
Also if Apple is listening, an error more meaningful than 404 would be much much appreciated.

Is it possible to develop for TelephonyMessagingKit on iOS 26 outside of the EU? If so, how is this accomplished? I have added the 'Default Carrier Messaging App' entitlement to my project, but I do not see an option to set my app as a default option in settings on my device. I am not located inside of the EU, but would like to test this functionality.

If I have, say a doctor appointment in the Calendar app, and I'm leaving to go to it, the address will appear in Apple Maps on CarPlay. Forgive if I'm getting the details wrong, but I believe if I bring up the Map, it will be available to tap on, so I can quickly go there. I think it may also show up on one on the car-play screens that shows a few different panels.
The point is, I really like this feature, and want to do it in my app.
In my iOS app, the user can order food from a restaurant, and pick it up. I'm not ready to make this app a "quick service" app, but I want to give the user an easy to get to her location. Since I just ordered food, this means that I'll need to leave fairly quickly to go to the location. The Calendar app is able to offer a location because of scheduling, I'd like to do the same.
I’m creating an app with the Screen Time API and I would like to know how to make the app show a parental control editing view for parents and a view for child accounts that shows which apps are blocked. How can I do this?
How can I use the Screen Time API to set a restriction for a child account from my app running on the parent’s account?
Hi,
I’m trying to open a GPX file (route.gpx) from the Files app on my iPhone using my app (e.g., Aqua Map).
Since the latest iOS update (iOS 26), when I long-press the file and tap “Open with…”, my app does not appear in the list anymore.
I’ve checked that my app has the correct permissions for Files and Folders. I’m wondering:
Is this a user-side issue (Settings on iPhone)?
Or does it require developer-side changes in the app (Info.plist / UTI declarations) to make .gpx files appear in “Open with…” or “Share” menus?
What is the proper way to make my app appear as an option to open GPX files in Files.app on iOS 26?
Thanks in advance!
Goal: Manually install an explicit version of Rosetta2
Background:
Me and some customers have an old app (intel) which perfectly worked with Rosetta2. In the last week of April most macheines were updated to Mac Os 15.4.1. and the app still starts but certain functionality is bronken. Some fields ind the forms don't write back to the database, some data can't be read from the database.
(Most installations will fade out over the next month but it would be great to have the app fully working for data migration.)
First try was to step back to 15.4. (Clean Install - Install App - Rosetta installs as expected): no change, app still broken
Second try back to 15: (Clean Install - Install App - Rosetta installs as expected): App still broken (!) This is interesting as the app worked for month using Mac Os 15!
Third try: Back to MacOS 14 (Clean Install - Install App - Rosetta installs as expected): App is working like nothing happend.
(All attempts on same hardware of course.)
Reasoning:
Rosetta2 was the only software (besides the app itself) installed after clean MacOS installs. Now, my guess is that there were might be a change in Rosetta2 as the app worked on MacOs 15 up the update 15.4.1. was installed.
Checking versions (pkgutil --pkg-info com.apple.pkg.RosettaUpdateAuto):
Rosetta version MacOS 14: 1.0.0.0.1.1722778371
Rosetta version on MacOS 15.4.1: 1.0.0.0.1.1744447383
To fully verify the cause it would be great to uninstall Rosetta on MacOS15.4.1 machine and explicit install lower version (1.0.0.0.1.1722778371) which must be available somewhere as MacOS14 still gets this version.
I know how to uninstall - is there a possibility to manually install an explicit version of Rosetta2?

Hello! What is the TTL for evaluation key(s) used in Live Caller ID feature on iOS client side? We would like to align our server-side key storage TTL with the iOS client implementation to optimize memory usage.
Would really appreciate your help on this.
Hi!
For some reason my DeviceActivityReport sometimes fails to load. I've tried setting up a very simple mock views and displaying a report with a simple "Hello world" but even that won't work. It prints the following error message in the terminal but doesn't show anything else or any context as to what has gone wrong.
Failed to update the client's configuration: Error Domain=DeviceActivityReportService.ReportViewController.ClientError Code=2 "(null)"
It seems like the "makeConfiguration" method for the report isn't even being invoked. That may though just be an issue with printing messages in the extension.
Any help on what could be the issue, or even just a message that you're being the same thing would be greatly appreciated!
Is it possible to integrate a button in an app that displays advertisements to support charities -without offering any direct reward to the user?
Weatherkit stopped again providing next hour rain data for United kingdom and ireland
I am able to block apps using FamilyControl and Shield. Unblocking is also simple—just assign nil to store.shield.applications. However, I want to unblock them even when the app is not open.
Use case: Let's say the app allows users to create a session where a particular app is blocked for a specific duration. Once the session starts, the app should remain blocked, and as soon as the session time ends, it should automatically be unblocked.
Please help me with this. Thank you!
Does WeatherKit Rest api have the following forecast endpoints?

My app’s widget is not displaying correctly and only shows a blank white screen.
I have a public and accessible .well-known/apple-app-site-association
file for both my domain.com and subdomain.domain.com with
"paths": ["*"] .
Both example.com and blog.example.com are added in Associated domains and any link that contains domain.com and domain.com/path normally deep links into my app.
I used to have an *.example.com that successfully deep linked all my subdomains into my app but now I had to remove it as some subdomains will need to link to other apps, but some should still link to the same app.
I removed * but left blog.example.com as that specific subdomain still needs to deep link into my app. But now blog.example.com is not even being recognized by my app and any link starting with blog.example.com just opens in safari.
What am I missing? Why is this happening ?
Hey there,
I have an app where I create custom Advanced App Clip Experiences for other businesses which seems to be a valid thing.
I do create them via API. Upon creation everything looks fine: when I go to App Store Connect -> App -> Advanced App Clip Experiences, I do see the new App Clip Experience I've just created. Their status is Received (as any other active experiences) and have a custom URL.
The issue is weird timing when the Advanced App Clip Experience actually becomes available on the iPhone (can be triggered via App Clip Code, etc). Some experiences become available literally immediately but others take days (some take 1-2 days, some take ~5 days).
I'm not sure why there's a bid difference for an Advanced App Clip to be actually active. Does anyone have any kind of experience with that? I don't change domain settings, app's settings, etc. I'm just creating a new experience (both via API or manually at App Store Connect) and I do have different "activation" times for different App Clips.
Same when I delete an Advanced App Clip Experience, it will still be available for next couple days.
I get there might be caching stuff, etc. But the difference is quite huge and makes no sense since as I've mentioned some clips become available immediately but some takes days to be available.
Thank you!
Hi Apple Developer,
I’m working on a message-filtering application and reviewing Apple's documentation on message filtering. The documentation clearly states that MMS messages can be filtered. (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/identitylookup/sms-and-mms-message-filtering)
When we refer to MMS, it includes images, short videos, and other supported multimedia formats. However, the ILMessageFilterQueryRequest only provides the message body as a String, meaning we can access text and links but not images or other media files.
Could you please confirm whether Apple allows third-party applications to access multimedia content sent from unknown numbers?
Looking forward to your quick response.
Thanks,
Rijul Singhal
We integrated DeviceCheck framework into our app to prevent fraudulent call to our app service around one year ago.
Recently, we received a few cases related to this function over Christmas Eve period.
Based on the logs we have, it indicated both the following two functions returned errors. But we don't have the exactly errors logged and now we cannot replicate.
DCAppAttestService.shared.attestKey()
DCAppAttestService.shared.generateAssertion()
The other finding we have is some users reporting this issue recently upgraded their devices from iOS 18 to iOS 26.
So we are suspecting it's due to either the OS upgrading, or Apple's app attest service degrading.
Anyone encountered the similar issues before, or have any idea regarding the root cause? Thanks!
Hi all,
From what I’ve seen on forums and other sources, it appears that nothing can be done to set the contact poster programmatically. Setting the imageData property affects only the thumbnail image. Does anyone know if this is explicitly documented somewhere? I need this information for a POC document. I watched the iOS 17 keynote (where it was introduced), the Platform State of Union, and other WWDC videos, but I couldn’t find any mention of it. The Contacts framework documentation only explains what can be retrieved from this property and doesn’t mention any way to set the contact poster.
If anyone has any information on this, please help!
Thanks in advance!
