Access the Apple Calculator exchange rate API?
For my app, I would like to offer the user an option to enter a value in any currency and have it converted to their 'home' currency with the correct exchange rate. I saw that the Apple Calculator is offering that functionality and was wondering if there is a way to also get the exchange rate with out of the box tools? I know that there are several API providers out there that offer the current exchange rate for any currency but I am looking for a solution that is free of charge. Max

iOS 26 Empty Stack Crash
When we compile our app using Xcode 26 and run it on iOS 26, we encounter a strange crash where the crashing thread shows no stack trace. After inspecting the registers, we have initially traced it to the Google Mobile Ads SDK. When we disable the initialization of the Google Mobile Ads SDK, the app no longer crashes. However, running the Google Mobile Ads SDK demo app on iOS 26 alone does not cause any issues; the crash only occurs once it is integrated into our app. We also tried enabling Address Sanitizer and Zombie Objects but found no valuable clues. Could you advise what other methods or tools we can use to further diagnose this issue? Additionally, when we compile the app with Xcode 15 and run it on iOS 26, everything works fine without crashes. app-2025-09-19-161044.ips.txt

Background shield application reliability
Hello! I am working on a screentime app and wondering if anyone has had success achieving reliable background shield application while using com.apple.ManagedSettingsUI.shield-configuration-service? I recently switched from com.apple.deviceactivity.shield-configuration (which worked reliably but isn't accepted by TestFlight) and have not found any consistency getting shields to apply while the app is backgrounded. I believe this is a known limitation of ManagedSettingsUI and want to know if there are successful workarounds or any specific patterns/timing that improve consistency?

Language detection
I have prepared a NSSpellServer spelling and grammar checker for Slovenian proofing in macOS. My proofing service gets used when I explicitly set keyboard spelling language to "Slovenian (Besana)" (my proofing tool). When I set keyboard language to Automatic by Language, system does the language detection. Since it has limited support for Slovenian language, it doesn't recognize the text as Slovenian and never asks my proofing service to check the spelling. It does consult my proofing service for spelling suggestions and when it does, I see the language parameter there is set to anything but Slovenian. Is it possible to install own language detector to macOS? Or, place some language dictionary files somewhere, the system could use to extend language detection to new languages?

Grammar checking is never requested
I have prepared a NSSpellServer spelling and grammar checker for Slovenian proofing in macOS. My proofing service gets used when I explicitly set keyboard spelling language to "Slovenian (Besana)" (my proofing service). However, no matter how I set the Check Grammar With Spelling option or Check Grammar checkbox in the TextEdit.app or Mail.app, my proofing service does not get any request for grammar checking. I am supporting checkString call for Unified checking and checkingTypes never contains NSTextCheckingTypeGrammar flag. When using legacy API before Unified checking support, the checkGrammarInString is never called either. If I do the grammar regardless the checkingTypes parameter, the app shows grammar mistakes correctly. But that is bad UX. Need to follow user demand for with grammar or without grammar. I don't know what am I doing wrong? On my home iMac v11 it actually works. No idea what I did there to make it work. Just worked. On my working Mac Mini v13 it won't check grammar. On another MacBook Pro v15, it won't check grammar either. Apps do check spelling with my proofing service. But not grammar. Same apps do grammar checking with stock AppleSpelling.service just fine. I have checked my Info.plist, using Hardened Runtime, have empty Entitlements, to no avail. Was there some new grammar API introduced after macOS v11 Big Sur, I should implement? Is there some specific Entitlement, signature, notarization I should perform to get going? Some documentation I am missing?

Associated Domain not working to Open App
Hello Having trouble getting associated domain to work in our project. It was working when we used Branch, but our company wants to host the domain ourselves. This is a multi-scheme project, using .xcconfig files to define the correct entitlement per Build. The relevant entitlement file has: com.apple.developer.associated-domains applinks:bm.ddcas.ai in the ....{other irrelevant test associated domains....} The project Team and App ID are taken from the Identifiers screen where the Identifier capabilities has 'associated domains' ticked on. I've also checked elsewhere on AppleDeveloper/Connect to be sure. When we used Branch with domain key app links: bmstores.app.link this worked fine. With https://bm.ddcas.ai (our own host) which is publicly available and has an aasa file in both the main directory and /.well-known, typing this in safari or anything just doesn't attempt to link to the App. The iPhone is in developer mode, and using the developer menu associated domains diagnostic tool, typing https://bm.ddcas.ai results in the diagnostic saying 'The url is a Universal Link for the app with identifier **********.***etc (the app is installed on real iPhone 12, iOS 18.6.2 and my Xcode is 16.4) However, it just doesn't work if we type in https://bm.ddcas.ai and results in a Safari message of '400 not found' and the 'nginx' shows. We have read innumerable Apple Dev posts and StackOverflow posts, as well as several step by step 'how to's' online but this just isn't working. The aasa file is at https://bm.ddcas.ai/apple-app-site-association and is setup as follows: { "applinks": { "apps": [], "details": [ { "appID": "{my Team ID}.{my App ID}", "paths": [ "*" ], "components": [ { "/": "/verification", "?": { "verification_code": "[A-Za-z0-9]{6}" }, "comment": "Matches verification code path" } ] } ] } } Our Server guys say the website (bm.ddcas.ai) is public and hosted, it just doesn't have a /verification path as they say it should redirect before reaching that. Also, our Android redirect works using this site, so this appears to be something specific Apple code is looking for. What, please, are we likely to be missing as it does not seem obvious from the Apple documentation or any of the resources I have checked online. Normally we can figure anything out, but getting nowhere here so the help is appreciated.

App Crashing iOS26
I have four apps currently deployed on the App Store. One of these apps crashes on launch when running on iOS 26, but functions as expected on iOS 18 and earlier versions. I am seeking to understand what changes in iOS 26 might be causing this issue. When running the app in debug mode on devices with iOS 26 using Xcode 16.1, the app crashes. The crash log references libobjc-trampolines.dylib, suggesting a potential issue with the Objective-C runtime. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? AGX: AGX: agxa_device_template.hpp:1467:setupCompiler: *** FATAL: driver shader binary file not found in (null) for extension g15p!!! D [yHZ]: added warning: [MEDIUM]: SW04: A debugger is attached to the App. D [ProbeCallbacks]: [IXGUARD] debugger detected objc[1461]: couldn't dlopen libobjc-trampolines.dylib: dlopen(/usr/lib/libobjc-trampolines.dylib, 0x0106): tried: '/usr/lib/system/introspection/libobjc-trampolines.dylib' (no such file, not in dyld cache), '/usr/lib/libobjc-trampolines.dylib' (no such file), '/private/preboot/Cryptexes/OS/usr/lib/libobjc-trampolines.dylib' (open() failed with errno=24), '/usr/lib/libobjc-trampolines.dylib' (no such file, not in dyld cache) What steps can I take to resolve this crash? Thank you for your assistance.

Alarmkit
我完全复用了官方wwdc的Alarmkit的demo。测试过程发现12,13pro闹钟完全正常,15pro和16pro闹铃时间不对,经常不响,而且在设置中切换市时区时会立马响。这是api的bug么

FamilyActivityPicker not showing in iOS 26
Hi, after updating to iOS 26 I'm encountering an issue where the FamilyActivityPicker no longer opens. No errors are shown in the console, it just never shows up. It works fine pre iOS 26. I've never had any issues with the picker showing up until iOS 26. My latest update was rejected because of this issue, but I've changed nothing in the code. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Change default handler for tel URL scheme on macOS
My app is a VoIP softphone for Mac that allows people to make phone calls to a regular phone numbers. The app exists since before Mac App Store. The app declares itself to the system as capable of handling tel: URLs. Until now, people could change the default handler for tel URLs in FaceTime settings (Default for calls). In macOS Tahoe 26, this doesn't seem to be possible any more. That option is gone from the FaceTime settings. Is it completely gone or has it been moved somewhere else? If there is no UI control for this any more, is it possible to change it programmatically?

Callkit call blocking problem
We tested call blocking on iOS 26 and noticed something strange: the call will not be blocked if an outgoing call was made to its number before. Nevertheless, it will be blocked if we delete the outgoing call record from the Phone.app Recents. This behavior looks like a bug and is unexpected when using our application. Was this a planned callkit change in iOS 26? Is it possible to get the correct call blocking behavior back? We set blocking rules with addBlockingEntry(withNextSequentialPhoneNumber:) and this problem is not present in iOS 18 and earlier. Thank you in advance

Dynamically changing app icon
I have a Qt desktop app that I was shipping to users as a dmg on macOS. But now I'll need to kind of rebrand the app to different users, that rebranding involves changing the name and the icon of the app I'm not sure how feasible that is on macOS but here's what I'm thinking: First I'll include all apps for all brands inside the app resources, and instead of shipping the app directly, I will ship and installer (either .pkg or a custom made installer app) that will be responsible for downloading the main app and also setting some environmental variables somewhere so that I can choose the icon from the resources based on the env var values. And then either change the app icon and name from the installer itself, or implement something inside the app that makes it change the icon and name on launch (both icon in finder and in dock) but maybe one of those methods (or both) will break the codesign/notarization of the app so I want to avoid that too I'm not sure if someone has done this before or how feasible such scenario is. Is what I'm thinking valid? or is there a whole other way possibly easier than this to go about implementing such feature? The purpose of this is that I don't want to have to create multiple releases for multiple brands when they're all the same application with different icons/names, and also when releasing an update it will be just one update for all brands Thank you in advance and feel free to ask any further questions for clarification

CallKit speaker problem
I’m developing a VoIP app that uses Linphone and CallKit. Everything works as expected until the user enables the speaker on the native CallKit screen. After that, all subsequent calls start with the speaker already on. Even if I call AVAudioSession.sharedInstance().overrideOutputAudioPort(.none), it gets overridden when the call starts (when Linphone begins playing the ringtone). I tested this behavior in WhatsApp, and it seems to work correctly there.

CallKit answer screen video button
Hello, currently working on messenger with audio/video calls feature. Have found strange behavior, on some devices after accepting call via Lock Screen video button appears to be disabled. Tested on wwdc Speakerbox sample, same code iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 17.4.1) - video button disabled iPhone 14 (iOS 17.6.1) - video button active Here is my, configuration with supportVideo activated static let providerConfiguration: CXProviderConfiguration = { let configuration = CXProviderConfiguration() configuration.supportsVideo = true configuration.maximumCallGroups = 1 configuration.maximumCallsPerCallGroup = 1 configuration.supportedHandleTypes = [.generic] return configuration }() What can be the reason of this behavior? Thanks

How to install macOS Tahoe 26 on an external drive
In the past I was always able to install every major macOS version on an external drive so that I can test my apps. But now I'm unable to install macOS Tahoe 26 on an external drive. Actually, as far as I'm aware, there are not even official links to macOS 26 installers, but only instructions on how to update to macOS 26 from an existing macOS installation. So I thought I'd install macOS 15 on a separate drive and then update to macOS 26, but whenever I run the macOS 15 installer, tell it to install on the external drive, and reboot after the setup process completes, my MacBook just boots into my main macOS partition as if nothing happened. 3 months ago I somehow managed to install macOS Tahoe beta 1 on an external drive, I don't remember how (but I don't think it was anything crazy); booting into that beta 1 partition and trying to update doesn't work either, as my MacBook again boots into my main macOS partition. I already asked help about the update problem one month ago here, but nobody replied. Could someone at Apple please provide instructions on how one is supposed to install macOS 26 on an external drive (if possible before it becomes available to the public)? Are we supposed to buy a separate Mac for every macOS version that we want to test our apps on?
