Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device: Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The bundle IDs App bundle ID Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) The serial number of the device. Integrating Apple Pay into an HTML inline frame (iframe) on your website
iOS 16 and earlier On iOS 16 and earlier, Apple Pay on the Web required Safari—and all interactions with the Apple Pay API to come from the parent/top level page. In order to facilitate the Apple Pay button in an HTML inline frame (iframe), there will need to be cross frame communication between the child and parent pages. Cross frame communication should be secure and robust, therefore the use of postMessage for this purpose is recommended. The expectation is for all communication with Apple Pay to occur from the parent page, so the iframe must relay all Apple Pay related events to the parent to handle. Some examples: Apple Pay availability: The parent calls applePayCapabilities, then sends the message of the response to the iframe, which then uses the value to toggle the visibility of the Apple Pay button. Apple Pay session: The iframe receives an onclick() event when the Apple Pay button is clicked and sends the message to the parent (providing details about the transaction). The parent create the payment request to obtain the session validation URL, and eventually receive session credentials and invokes completeMerchantValidation() to prevent the payment sheet. After the payment is authorized by the Payment Service Provider (PSP), the parent either: Redirects the parent page to a payment success page; or Sends a message to the iframe to complete the transaction flow itself. iOS 17 and later On IOS 17 and later, the iframe HTML element should include the allow="payment" attribute, which should facilitate the cross frame communications instead of needing a dedicated JavaScript library. This means all of the Apple Pay code/calls can reside in the iframe page—which is typically a hosted page from a Payment Service Provider (PSP), all the parent page—typically a merchant—has to do is add the attribute mentioned above to the iframe element. Important: Regardless of the iOS version, the PSP/merchant always needs to make sure the parent page domain is the one registered in the Developer portal, and used in the request to generate a merchant session via ApplePaySession. Third party payment service
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding App Store approval. In my country, Apple In-App Purchases are not supported, so for users in unsupported regions we need to use a third-party payment provider. For countries where In-App Purchases are supported, we plan to use Apple IAP. Could you please advise on the correct approach to ensure the app complies with App Store guidelines and can be approved?

iOS subscription: First purchase never triggers server notifications for a new Subscription Group
Hello, I’m experiencing a strange issue with a newly created Subscription Group in my iOS app. For all my existing subscription groups, everything works perfectly — initial purchase, renewals, cancellations, all notifications arrive normally. But for this one newly created group, the first purchase never triggers any server notification from App Store Server Notifications (ASSN). ⸻ 📘 Problem Summary • I created a new Subscription Group in App Store Connect. • The products are all Approved and Published for over a week. • Users can successfully purchase the subscription in production. • The purchase is shown as Purchased in the App Store purchase UI. • The receipt can be fetched locally on device. • But my server receives no notifications, including: • DID_RENEW • DID_CHANGE_RENEWAL_STATUS • SUBSCRIBED • ONE_TIME_CHARGE • CONSUMPTION_REQUEST • etc. The old subscription groups still send notifications normally, so the notification URL and server infrastructure are correct.

How to use Extended Virtual Addressing and Increased Memory Limit services correctly?
During the development of our 3D game project, we encountered high memory usage requirements. To address this, we enabled Apple’s Extended Virtual Addressing (EVA) and Increased Memory Limit services. We have confirmed that both services were enabled in the developer backend as well as in Xcode, and we also used updated development and distribution certificates when building the app. However, in our validation process, it seems that EVA and Increased Memory Limit are not taking effect — the game still experiences memory overflow and crashes. Could you please advise: The correct steps to properly use Extended Virtual Addressing and Increased Memory Limit; How we can confirm whether these services are functioning as expected?

cybersource Payment Gateway not able to decrypt paymenttoken
Cybersource production support has clarified issue as below "On the BAD Case, it seems that the Apple Payload did not contain the "onlinePaymentCryptogram" object within the JSON. The Cryptogram is critical and mandatory. Since the merchant cannot really control this, and since CYBS is just decrypting the payload and uses it, we cannot comment as to why it was missing. The merchant would need to reach out to Apple and/or decrypt the payment themselves locally to check if and why this data was not present, for troubleshooting purposes."

Unable to enable Apple Pay for App Clip – “relationship 'undefined'” error when adding capability
Hey everyone, hoping someone here has run into this before. I have a fully functional App Clip (com.didyoucatchit.app.Clip) linked to my main app (com.didyoucatchit.app). The Clip builds and runs perfectly, but I’m seeing issues trying to enable Apple Pay for it. When I try to link my Merchant ID under the “On Demand Install Capable” capability in the Apple Developer portal, I get this error: A relationship in the provided entity is not allowed for this request. The relationship 'undefined' can not be included in a 'bundleIdCapabilities' request. PKAddPaymentPassError
please bear with me, i am NOT a developer. we have third party developer creating a banking app that is throwing an error when trying to provision MasterCard for Apple Pay. MasterCard says they do not see the request come in at all. our developer says the issue is between mastercard and apple - and asked us to reach out to Apple. Information provided from our developer: “Error code 2 is 'system cancelled' from the PKAddPaymentPassError enum. Basically, there is an issue between Apple and Mastercard (using the encrypted card info from...” Response from Mastercard Connect: Upon further research with the examples you shared we are not seeing any attempt that reached to MC

[In Chrome] Clicking "Close Button" in Apple Pay Popup doesn't fire "oncancel" callback
After opening the Apple Pay Popup and try to close the popup (without scanning the QR Code), the oncancel handler (accociated with the created session) doesn't fire. Meanwhile if the merchant scanned the QR code and the UI of the popup changed, then cancel the popup manually (using close (X) button), it fires the session.oncancel event handler. Unable to Provision Payment pass to Apple Wallet via Wallet Extensions.
We are working with two types of wallet passes. Provisioning works successfully for one pass type via wallet extensions, but the same process is not functioning for the other. For the second pass type, we are able to generate the required data for pull provisioning and send it to Apple. Additionally, in-app push provisioning for this pass type completes without issue. We would appreciate guidance on how to further debug and resolve this provisioning problem.

Implementing Apple Pay In-App Provisioning in a WKWebView app
We are developing a native iOS financial application called Tradu: Stocks, Forex, and CFDs (Apple ID: 6473443264), which embeds a WKWebView to render all user-facing logic. All user interactions—including authentication with MFA—occur inside this WKWebView. To access native functionality, we use postMessage() to communicate between the web and native layers. This approach has worked successfully for biometric authentication, for example. We are currently integrating Apple Pay In-App Provisioning and have a few questions regarding compliance with the documentation provided by our Issuer Host (Modulr). In the document titled Getting Started with Apple Pay: In-App Provisioning, Verification, Security, and Wallet Extensions (Version 4.0, February 2023), all examples are based on a fully native application. We’ve managed to integrate most of the In-App Provisioning flow via postMessage() up to the point of passing encryptedData to the Payment View. Apple Pay button inside WKWebView In Section 7: Frontend Overview, the user initiates the provisioning by tapping a native PKPaymentButton (SwiftUI example). In our case, this button is rendered inside the WKWebView, styled according to the Apple Style Guide. While the document references this approach as a “raw mark text supplement,” is this method acceptable and compliant with Apple’s UX and technical guidelines? MFA requirement before provisioning In Section 4: Security Guidelines, it is stated that the user must have passed MFA at least once before starting the provisioning flow. In our implementation, users must complete MFA on every login (including on recognized devices) before the provisioning UI becomes available. Even though this is not tied specifically to “unrecognized devices,” is our MFA requirement sufficient to satisfy Section 4.2? Summary: Is using a web-rendered Apple Pay button inside WKWebView (instead of a native PKPaymentButton) considered compliant? Is our MFA enforcement model (required on every login) aligned with the security requirements outlined in Section 4.2 of the Apple Pay In-App Provisioning documentation?

Apple Pay Wallet API Access – Applied a Year AGO and Almost No Progress! Anyone Else?
Hey everyone, I wanted to check if anyone else has faced extreme delays when requesting access to Apple Pay Wallet APIs. It was Oct 11 2024 a year ago since we first applied to enable in-app provisioning for virtual cards in our app and we made 1% progress. For context, we already got access from Google for Google Wallet—it was smooth, professional, and timely. But with Apple… it’s been nothing but an endless cycle of waiting. We followed every step, submitted everything correctly, and even called Apple Developer Support multiple times. Their response? "We've escalated it." Again and again. But there’s no real progress. We’re rerouted, ignored, and left in limbo. At this point, I don’t even know if anyone is actually reviewing these requests. If a business like ours—fully compliant and ready to integrate—can’t even get a response in 150 day, how is this process supposed to work? I’m posting this here because I can’t be the only one. Has anyone else faced this? If you finally got access, how did you do it? Because right now, it feels like Apple Pay in-app provisioning is an impossible goal. Hoping someone from Apple sees this and realizes how broken this process is. We’re just trying to innovate and offer Apple users a great experience—why is it so difficult? Problem with cert validation and button show
Hi, I’ve been trying to integrate Apple Pay, but for some reason, the payment button is not showing up. The project is built with Laravel 11 and Vue. However, when I test my integration, the button doesn’t appear. I’ve checked the console, but there are no errors. At the same time, I have my certificate imported into the Keychain, and I’ve completed the entire process of creating both the certificate and the private key. However, when I try to validate the session using the certificate and key with Apple’s API, I get an error: 400 The SSL certificate error https://apple-pay-gateway-cert.apple.com/paymentservices/

DPAN, MPAN, Cryptogram and Compliance
Hello everyone, I’m currently in the process of implementing Apple Pay on my company’s e-commerce website under a subscription model with recurring payments. I would appreciate some help in clarifying the following points: Is the applicationPrimaryAccountNumber the DPAN and the merchantTokenIdentifier the MPAN? If not, which fields represent each one or how do I recognise them? Is the onlinePaymentCryptogram used only for processing payments with the DPAN, or is it also involved when using the MPAN? Is the onlinePaymentCryptogram single-use or does it have an expiration time? Or is it reusable with no limits? According to Apple’s data policies, is it recommended for our servers to perform the payment token decryption (debundling), or should this only be handled by the payment gateway processor to stay compliant? ApplePayRecurringPaymentRequest Query
Hi , This is regarding the ApplePayRecurringPayment Request and Apple Pay on Web functionality. Does Apple Pay on web providing functionality that collects payments from the stored credit card issuer bank (or) it only provides secured wallet functionality that provides a token which then has to be utilized to send a seperate payment request through a third party payment gateway to collect the payments from the credit card issuer bank. thanks

Non standard Wallet app non suppressed by pass suppression entitlement
We have an app that uses the pass-presentation-suppression entitlement and calls requestAutomaticPassPresentationSuppression to prevent the Wallet app from being presented when the device is displaying a barcode to a barcode/nfc reader. This works as expected for users of the standard Apple Wallet app. However, it does not prevent third-party wallet apps from being launched, which hides the barcode and prevents it from being scanned properly. What options do I have to prevent third-party wallet apps from launching or interfering while our app is actively presenting a barcode?

Apple Pay Domain Verification: .txt Extension Confusion
Hi all, I’m running into a confusing issue with Apple Pay domain verification. Apple’s documentation says to host the verification file at: https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association And the portal itself seems to expect the file to be served with .txt extension during verification. My first verification passed, but subsequent checks are failing — and I’m wondering if this mismatch is the cause. Should I Keep the .txt and configure my server to serve it at both paths? Would appreciate any insights or official clarification. Thanks!
