While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device:
Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2.
Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video.
Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS.
Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information:
The bundle IDs
App bundle ID
Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable)
UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable)
The serial number of the device.
For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy).
For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > Serial Number.
The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string.
For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy).
For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > System Report > NVMExpress > Serial Number.
The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue.
The timestamp (including timezone) of when the issue was reproduced.

Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or bundle ID of your app or app extensions in the Console app.

iOS 16 and earlier
On iOS 16 and earlier, Apple Pay on the Web required Safari—and all interactions with the Apple Pay API to come from the parent/top level page. In order to facilitate the Apple Pay button in an HTML inline frame (iframe), there will need to be cross frame communication between the child and parent pages. Cross frame communication should be secure and robust, therefore the use of postMessage for this purpose is recommended.
The expectation is for all communication with Apple Pay to occur from the parent page, so the iframe must relay all Apple Pay related events to the parent to handle. Some examples:
Apple Pay availability: The parent calls applePayCapabilities, then sends the message of the response to the iframe, which then uses the value to toggle the visibility of the Apple Pay button.
Apple Pay session: The iframe receives an onclick() event when the Apple Pay button is clicked and sends the message to the parent (providing details about the transaction). The parent create the payment request to obtain the session validation URL, and eventually receive session credentials and invokes completeMerchantValidation() to prevent the payment sheet. After the payment is authorized by the Payment Service Provider (PSP), the parent either:
Redirects the parent page to a payment success page; or
Sends a message to the iframe to complete the transaction flow itself.
iOS 17 and later
On IOS 17 and later, the iframe HTML element should include the allow="payment" attribute, which should facilitate the cross frame communications instead of needing a dedicated JavaScript library. This means all of the Apple Pay code/calls can reside in the iframe page—which is typically a hosted page from a Payment Service Provider (PSP), all the parent page—typically a merchant—has to do is add the attribute mentioned above to the iframe element.
Important: Regardless of the iOS version, the PSP/merchant always needs to make sure the parent page domain is the one registered in the Developer portal, and used in the request to generate a merchant session via ApplePaySession.

I would like to request a technical escalation to the engineering team regarding an ongoing issue with Apple Pay domain verification.
Error returned by Apple
Even though Apple’s request to our domain returns HTTP 200, the verification still fails with:

resultString: "Domain verification failed. Review your TLS Certificate configuration to confirm that the certificate is accessible and a supported TLS Cipher Suite is used."

We performed a full TLS analysis:
Certificate issued by Sectigo Public Server Authentication CA DV E36 (public trusted CA)

From our side, the TLS configuration is confirmed to be correct.
Accessibility of the .well-known file
The file is publicly and accessible
It returns 200 OK and the content is exactly identical to the file downloaded from the Apple Developer Portal, without any modification.
Our network team confirmed that Apple’s verification request also receives HTTP 200 when pressing “Verify” in the Apple Developer Console.
Network-side findings
We monitored Apple’s request in real time. Findings:
TLS handshake succeeds
No cipher mismatch
File delivered correctly
Status: 200 OK
No redirect or transformation applied
Despite this, Apple still returns error 13014.
Request for engineering review
We kindly request that an Apple engineer verify the following:
The actual TLS handshake performed by Apple's verification service (cipher suite, protocol negotiation, SNI, trust chain).
Whether the Sectigo issuing CA is fully trusted and supported by your domain-verification backend.
If there is an internal reason behind error 13014—since the external message does not provide actionable details.
Whether the response is rejected for reasons other than TLS, given that the file is accessible and the request returns 200.
The exact condition that leads Apple to report “TLS Certificate configuration is incorrect” in this case.
This issue is blocking an urgent deployment and must be resolved as soon as possible.

When I use my iPhone to scan the apple pay QR code in chrome, the url is https://applepaydemo.apple.com/apple-pay-js-api, I keep geting the "Service Unavailable" error.

We are writing to report a recurring stability issue with the Apple Pay sandbox environment. We are using the official sandbox test cards provided on the Apple Developer website for our testing:

We are experiencing frequent, intermittent failures when attempting to add these sandbox cards to the Wallet for testing purposes. The issue typically occurs a couple of times per day. When the failure occurs, the card provisioning process fails unexpectedly.
The issue is not limited to a single card; we have observed this behavior across all available card networks. In some instances, all cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex) fail to provision simultaneously. At other times, the issue appears to be isolated to specific networks while others work correctly.
Crucially, the issue appears to be temporary. After some time passes (ranging from minutes to an hour), we are able to add the exact same card successfully without making any changes to our test environment or configuration.
We have diligently checked our setup to rule out configuration errors on our end. This includes verifying:
The device is set to a supported region.
We are signed in with a valid sandbox tester Apple ID.
All other prerequisites for sandbox testing are met.
The fact that the process works correctly at other times strongly suggests that this is a server-side stability issue within the Apple Pay sandbox environment rather than a persistent misconfiguration on our part.
To help with your investigation, we have attached an image that demonstrates a failed attempt to add a card.
Could you please investigate the stability of the sandbox card provisioning service? Please let us know if this is a known issue or if there is any further information we can provide.

On my website, I have a button to make a payment via Apple Pay. When I click on it, the Touch ID window opens correctly. However, when I place my finger on the Touch ID, I get a payment error.
This issue only occurs in production mode. In sandbox mode, everything works perfectly.

I'm implementing Apple Pay in my Flutter web app and I'm following the guidelines for domain verification using the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association file.
When I access the file at https://mydomain.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association through my web app, the browser silently downloads the file instead of displaying its content on the webpage.
My question is:
Is this the expected behavior for the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association file? Should the browser download the file silently, or is there another step required, such as displaying the content on the webpage for verification purposes?
I've consulted some resources and they indicate that the file download is the correct behavior. However, I'd appreciate confirmation from the community to ensure I'm implementing the verification process correctly.
Summary is how do we know if apple has verified it?
We have an app that uses the pass-presentation-suppression entitlement and calls requestAutomaticPassPresentationSuppression to prevent the Wallet app from being presented when the device is displaying a barcode to a barcode/nfc reader.
This works as expected for users of the standard Apple Wallet app. However, it does not prevent third-party wallet apps from being launched, which hides the barcode and prevents it from being scanned properly.
What options do I have to prevent third-party wallet apps from launching or interfering while our app is actively presenting a barcode?

Hey everyone, hoping someone here has run into this before.
I have a fully functional App Clip (com.didyoucatchit.app.Clip) linked to my main app (com.didyoucatchit.app). The Clip builds and runs perfectly, but I’m seeing issues trying to enable Apple Pay for it.
When I try to link my Merchant ID under the “On Demand Install Capable” capability in the Apple Developer portal, I get this error:

Hello -- We're preparing to roll out Apple Pay on website in the next week but encountered some issues during testing.
While we successfully processed transactions using a VISA card, we ran into errors when testing with other card brands. Has anyone come across this issue before?
We have developed Apple Wallet Extension for our App. The in-app provisioning for the card is working. However when we try to add the card from Wallet extension it gives error saying "Your issuer does not yet offer support for this card".

We are developing a native iOS financial application called Tradu: Stocks, Forex, and CFDs (Apple ID: 6473443264), which embeds a WKWebView to render all user-facing logic. All user interactions—including authentication with MFA—occur inside this WKWebView.
To access native functionality, we use postMessage() to communicate between the web and native layers. This approach has worked successfully for biometric authentication, for example.
We are currently integrating Apple Pay In-App Provisioning and have a few questions regarding compliance with the documentation provided by our Issuer Host (Modulr). In the document titled Getting Started with Apple Pay: In-App Provisioning, Verification, Security, and Wallet Extensions (Version 4.0, February 2023), all examples are based on a fully native application.
We’ve managed to integrate most of the In-App Provisioning flow via postMessage() up to the point of passing encryptedData to the Payment View.
Apple Pay button inside WKWebView
In Section 7: Frontend Overview, the user initiates the provisioning by tapping a native PKPaymentButton (SwiftUI example).
In our case, this button is rendered inside the WKWebView, styled according to the Apple Style Guide.
While the document references this approach as a “raw mark text supplement,” is this method acceptable and compliant with Apple’s UX and technical guidelines?
MFA requirement before provisioning
In Section 4: Security Guidelines, it is stated that the user must have passed MFA at least once before starting the provisioning flow.
In our implementation, users must complete MFA on every login (including on recognized devices) before the provisioning UI becomes available.
Even though this is not tied specifically to “unrecognized devices,” is our MFA requirement sufficient to satisfy Section 4.2?

I'm attempting to enable my companies app to add credit card to Apple Wallet. Part of our app enables customers to generate new virtual cards on demand and I'm attempting to enable the ability to add these cards to the Apple Wallet. Everything seems to be working all the way to the final stage of the process where I get a PKPassKitErrorDomain systemCancelled and I can't seem to find any clues as to why the system is canceling.
For context -
I have the com.apple.developer.payment-pass-provisioning entitlement. I have both the Wallet and In-App Provisioning capabilities enabled in the App. I have defined a PKAddPaymentPassViewControllerDelegate class that implements both the generateRequest and didFinishAdding methods. I'm leveraging PKAddPaymentPassViewController in SwiftUI by using a UIViewControllerRepresentable implementing class that returns the view controller properly when makeUIViewController is called. I build a PKAddPaymentPassRequest object and ensure that it is properly filled with encryptedPassData, activationData, and ephemeralPublicKey.
As a user I'm able to go to the virtual card view, open the instance of PKAddPaymentPassViewController, select the destination for the card, see the Add Card information. I get to the point where the view tells me it's contacting the card issuer and then I get an error message "Could Not Add Card - Try again later or contact your card issuer for more information" with a "Set Up Later" button. I then get the system canceled error.
I should mention that I'm able to add these virtual cards manually via the Apple Wallet. The process works similarly but requires me to provided an OTP to conclude the process. This flow works and I have active cards in my wallet.
I'm having a very hard time figuring out how to try and debug this issue further. The only error that the system returns is the system canceled notice.
Any insight into where I might be missing something or how to debug the issue further would be greatly appreciated. Any thought on how I could debug this further would also be greatly appreciated.

I am setting up a feature for my company's banking app that allows users to add their payment/debit card they have with us to the Apple Wallet on their device. We have the in-app provisioning entitlement setup and configured in the app and configured with our banking partner/TSP. We are able to manually provision production environment cards via the Wallet app.
I am using test card data from my TSP. I send them the two certificates, nonce, and nonce signature data and am given activationData, encryptedPassData, and an ephmeralPublicKey that we then set on an instance of PKAddPaymentPassRequest. We call the handler on the delegate method that is called with that request object and get an error:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKPassKitErrorDomain error 2.)
Looking at the PassKit library shows this is PKUnsupportedVersionError - Unsupported pass version.
Our TSP hasn't been super helpful in troubleshooting this issue and just said we should contact Apple as it is an Apple error.
I am trying to figure out if the issue is with how we are implementing the feature or with the test data itself given to us.

For the pushToken sent by APNS to register a wallet pass for update notifications, is there a max length or size that APNS will send? I save the token in my database and have it defined as varchar(256), but I have had some instances where the pushToken is larger than that. I'd like to know if there's an absolute max size that APNS will send. Then I'll know if I should reject requests with tokens larger than what's expected, and/or if I need to make the token size larger in the database.

We’re seeing an issue where the Apple Pay button is visible in Safari but not clickable for certain users, while it works normally for others. This happens on our site (https://store-qa2.enphase.com/
) as well as on other sites for the same affected users.
Currently, we display the Apple Pay button based on the following condition:

For affected users, the button shows up as expected, but it’s not interactive. All users (both affected and unaffected) are on the latest versions of Safari and macOS/iOS.
